POEM: Our Consciousness

We have made money,

Indeed wealth

Our social conscience!

A contract.

For we have put

An economical value

On everything in life!

Making our actions depends

On the value of the commodity of life,

As a social system to survive on mother earth!

Causing life to be an economical slavery;

Rich against poor,

As a duty to rip apart,

To make life a burden

For the many,

By pursuing greed,

A disease science has no cure for.

Instead exploiting the weak,

The very nature that is Earth!

A compulsion which demand-

Acquiring-

The more lavish becomes the appetite,

For more investments,

Which requires expansion

For more establishments,

So, the rich

Those icons too enjoy their life on Earth!

Millionaires,

…Billionaires,

To trillionaires,

And the competition

With mega yachts,

Mansions,

And spacecrafts.

While on the streets

The begging too eats a bread,

To live in a house

With a heaven when dead!

While the Earth cries.

Alas climate change!

Self-destruction,

Greed.

Now a pandemic,

The dying;

Science can’t even cure,

But to mitigate,

Unlike other diseases

That were mended.

This covid instructs us

Wellness is what matters,

Health for the greater good!

To rid us from obesity,

Diabetes,

Hypertension,

And the stress of greed,

Suicide,

The science from processed foods,

Our consciousness,

Our values.
