A UWP government to begin tackling economic hardship, social decay, maladministration within first 100 days

UWP leader , Lennox Linton, holds up a copy of the manifesto during its launch

The UWP says it will implement measures to bring immediate relief in the areas of economic hardship, social decay and maladministration within the first 100 days of becoming the new government.

The priority projects and policy measures under a UWP administration will include a review of the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) Programme, a review of the House of Assembly and Registration of Voters’ legislation and the full reinstatement, restructuring and operationalization of the Public Works Corporation.

Other priority areas include the commissioning of a report to increase productivity and improve the efficiency of the public service and  the start of a full audit into the operations of Petro Caribe and associated local companies

In the party’s “Real Change” manifesto which was launched at the Newtown Savannah on Saturday, it reassures senior citizens in Dominica that they will receive an increased pension of $500 monthly under UWP administration.

Presently, government-approved pension to seniors is $300.

The UWP also vows, in its manifesto, to make good its promise to increase the minimum wage following consultation with the private sector stakeholders. They also plan to provide low-interest loans, financial grants and appropriate fiscal incentives to deserving tourists service providers and manufacturers for refinancing refurbishment and expansion of their establishment.

Under Housing, the UWP will allow the duty-free entry of essential building material for one year in the first instance.

The party has also pledged, in its contract with the people, to review the government’s current housing assistance programme to ensure better accountability, equity and non-political interference.

It will also broaden the government’s home assistance programme to include a one-time financial grant to deserving single parent tenants who suffered the loss of house contents during the passage of Hurricane Maria.

How do you start tackling economic hardship when you are an instrument of destruction. You said you are going to win reform or not. Then why all this destruction. For what? Is this just your preamble, your overture, to elections? Why don’t you write your thesis on “why students get expelled from high school?” Then, come again.

Stop your nonsensical and cheap propaganda. Your PM is a gangster that stole from his country. One can’t get lower than that!! But people like you still try to defend him? I told you before, you are a low life

It is unequivocal clear and unarguably factual the only decaying of our society is LENOX LINTON! How can you fix what you are creating? You have absolutely nothing to talk about. You don’t have no accomplishments and uneducated, therefore burning our nation and trying to reduce us to ashes is your only objective. How can you lead with such hatred and animosity, where did this monster Lenox Linclown originated from! how can a father, brother, uncle cousin, and most of all a husband be so so devious! History will judge as the most incompetent underrated and unprofessional political candidate in Dominica.

Your prime minister is a gangster that steals from its own country. Lennox is fighting with the people and for the people to re-establish their rights. We want fair elections and we want our money back.

I am wondering what the uwp priests and daca men are saying on the attack of the bishop by their supporters.

Why wasn’t UWP talking about these things over the past 4 years. They wasted so much time doing and saying a lot of things only their core supporters cared about. I am talking about Skerrit’s French citizenship.
They should have been talking about improving people’s quality of life until DLP supporters started to believe his words.
Anyway, I hope it hits a note, although I think it may be too late to convince soft DLP supporters to come over to his side.

“The UWP says it will implement measures to bring immediate relief”

Lennox, you need to stop using the term “immediate”, it has never worked for you and it never will.

Immediately means “right away” and your first “100 days” promise in Office is nothing but a “fairytale” gimmick

You have been saying that the signs of Dominica’s economic and social growth are at a standstill; your own words said: “Dominica is sitting at the edge of a precipice”

Your claim is that PM Skerrit and his Team did not do it in 20 years; are you planning to use a magic wand to “immediately” correct that problem?

If not, you have not made one bit of sense in all that you spoke here; you are not helping yourself by making those promises that you cannot fulfill and you never will.

Dominicans have a thinking mind, it is you alone who thinks we are dummies because–sorry to say it– that is who your character is presenting to your audience.

This article shows the basic requirements to be put in place by any business person to ensure, the business runs smoothly , proper, and profitable. Proper records must be kept, accountabilities away from politics, with auditors check .every three months. Good start that’s my bit.

…is that so?? And who set fire to the control unit at Melville Hall some years ago? Who started the looting after the hurricane? Who staged the so called attempt to topple Skerrit?
I give you a bit of advice, don’t look any further than look at your PM.

“The UWP says it will implement measures to bring immediate relief in the areas of economic hardship, social decay and maladministration within the first 100 days of becoming the new government.” Fantastic words! How do u intend to raise the money 2 do so?

“In the party’s “Real Change” manifesto which was launched at the Newtown Savannah on Saturday, it reassures senior citizens in Dominica that they will receive an increased pension of $500 monthly under UWP administration.
Presently, government-approved pension to seniors is $300.” Di u not object to this? How now u endorse!

That’s why Lennox and UWP will continue to loose the support of their people because they are just confusing their supporters. On one hand he says, “no electoral reform, no election…then soon after PM announces election date Lennox says, “we will contest the elections and proceeds to nominate 21 candidates. Then he goes and feeds information to Al Jezeera about Skerrit and diplomatic passport sales and part of the report shows he has signed an agreement to issue a dip passport to a wealthy individual 20 days of he coming into power, in exchange for $400,000. The same Lennox Linton who has, for years, been accusing Skerrit of corruption and sale of dip passports…. He is doing the same thing and he is not even in power yet. Now in his manifesto he is purporting to increase senior citizens pensions to $500. The same Lennox Linton who objected to this……LENNOX YOU ARE CONFUSING YOUR SUPPORTERS and they are loosing interest in you and your party.

A question for all you UWP supporters & the leaders/Candidates. What if u do not win 2 form the Government? Are u going to continue on this careless trek (talking) demonstration, walk outs, opposing for opposing sake. Not recognising something good but only looking at ways, means to oppose (negative). Garcon zort knee pour changez maniiers zorts. U cannot continue along that trail. I wonder if u love Dominica as u say because u do not think b4 you speak. Why are u portraying Dominica as a country in turmoil? I live here & most times I wonder. Why hate the PM so. Your vendatta is against him. He helped your leader in Antigua. He helped the Doctor when he got injured.
2 much talking. Do not allow those who seem to know it all mislead you. They are only using u. Think for yourself. Put your thinking caps, open your eyes. look around u. Y do u want 2 destroy what has been built? Y the blockage? Y the fires? Everything is Skerrit! listen to yourself! Pit dug 4 others, fall u.

Boss, YOU are a real con man.
Talk is cheap and easily uttered. You are just cutting from the DLP manifesto and pasting to yours.
Where are the funding of ALL those promises going to come from? Are you depending on what Skerrit has done to accomplish your goals?
What if you find the Treasury EMPTY?
