Godwin Dorsette

Coach of Dominica’s 2023 CARIFTA Games team, Godwin Dorsette, says he is confident that Dominica will be on the medal podium for several events at this year’s CARIFTA games.

This year Dominica will be represented by its largest qualified contingent at the 50th CARIFTA Games being held in Nassau Bahamas this weekend.

Dorsette said that this year’s team has shown great promise on the local scene.

While outlining his coaching plan Dorsette said “right now I will be listening to the athletes and seeing where they’re at”. He also that this year Dominica has one of the strongest teams to ever participate at the CARIFTA Games.

The athletes were in Antigua undergoing training before heading to The Bahamas today.

Feller, that is what you are supposed to say. But the vast majority of Dominicans here in Dominica know that not much will be accomplished. Though we have a great wealth of talented sports people here, between the sports associations and the Olympic committee, you have ALL failed your respective sports people. Why? Because you all have NOT held the ministry of Education and Sports accountable to ensure that sports people in Dominica have the adequate equipment, facilities, training and management to take sports in Dominica to the next level. Then again many of you all in the management of sports in Dominica just looking for a job and the perks that come with it. Behind the stadium was supposed to be a sports complex, government went and gave it to chinese, what is being said? playing fields continue to function as savannas for grazing livestock, nothing being done.

Be confident as much as you wish – But the curse which Dominica is under….hmmm you’ll be disappointed. No winning for your team, Sir. And you should know why. Everything in Dominica right now is locked down and one fallen angel holds the key. And he is determined to hold on to this key until the day of never.

Does that mean he is prepared to resign of the team, having such potential does not live up to expectation?
You gotta put your money where your mouth is buddy.
