Dominica Bureau of Standards re-establishes website

DBOS Program Manager with Responsibility for Standards Development, Mara Abraham

The Dominica Bureau of Standards has officially re-established its website.

The website was launched at a ceremony held at the Bureau of Standards Conference room at Stock Farm on Thursday.

The ceremony formed part of World Quality Day.

“We’ve been wanting to re-establish our online platform presence,” Program Manager with Responsibility for Standards Development, Mara Abraham told Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview. “We started with our social media pages, we have Facebook, we have Twitter, I think we have Instagram as well, but we also needed a platform to provide a lot more information.”

According to her, a very long time ago, before she was at the Bureau there was a website.

Abraham stated further that the Bureau always saw it fit to re-establish the website, however a few difficulties arose.

“We ran into a few difficulties, initially the website had to be launched last year, however Covid-19 made it impossible to do so,” she explained.

She further explained that a new date was set to launch the website, but they ran into some more difficulties when their server crashed.

Abraham went on to state that the Bureau is working closely with the Ministry of Public Works and the Digital Economy.

“The site is work in progress,” she said.

Whomever wrote that press releases did a horrible job! You spent all your time complaining about a non-functional website, but zero time telling me about the Bureau of Standards. Furthermore, presentation is key. This photo and the background is a poor showing of what the department represents.
Oh well! It’s Labor standards, so I guess the faithful will be quite satisfied with whatever “King Roosevelt” bequeaths upon to them.

What standards? The CM hasn’t any standards nor his party or the Cabal. Where else could there possibly be any standards. Perhaps on paper. Dominica is a free for all, no standards, no ethics, no fairness, no decency and hardly any law enforcement. But what did we expect after hearing: NO LAW AND NO CONSTITUTION… All you thought he was joking?
