Police say they are investigating a fatal shooting at Fond Cole last night which left one man dead and two others nursing injuries at the Dominica- China Friendship Hospital.
“On Monday 19th September, 2022, three Fond Cole men were sitting on a head wall, over a culvert at Glasgow, Fond Cole, when they were apparently attacked and shot by a male individual,” Acting Inspector of Police, Fixton Henderson, reported this afternoon. “Wilson Wade – male 25years old, Sylvester Aabib – male 37 years old and Dylan Francis , male 29 years old, received multiple gunshot wounds. The men were transported to the emergency department of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital. There, Wilson Wade was examined and subsequently pronounced dead by a medical doctor.”
He added that Wade’s body is being kept at a funeral home awaiting a post mortem while Sylvester Abib Abib and Dylan Francis are both receiving medical attention.
Henderson also extended, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Wilson Wade and wished the injured Aabib and Francis, a speedy a recovery.

For all those persons who believe the increase in crime is unique to Dominica, I guess you’all must be living on a different planet. This increase is universal so why do you’all expect Dominica to be any different? Try asking some people who reside in the diaspora and see their response. They will let you know all crime is up more so in poorer communities.
Speak TRUTH. Unfortunately, crime is here and here to stay regardless of who is in charge so STOP playing politics with everything that happens on island.

According to the U.N. the homicide rate for Dominica in 2020 was 20.8 compared with 6.3 for the USA and for countries like Norway and The Netherlands even lower at 0.6 in the same year. I bet you our figure for this year will be higher than 2020. That is not what I want, do you? How can you be so blasé about that?
Why all this homicide in Fond Cole???
Regardless of the nature of crime committed and who is charged by the police, knowing the Criminal enterprise we have here there is nothing to convince me that those same criminals didn’t do it . The question remains WHO fire bombed the house of Mr and Mrs GON Emmanuel on that Christmas morning. Also, who paid people to burn down Roseau after a peaceful protest in 2017? Regardless of who was charged Maria seemed to have punished us all just 7 months later for that criminal enterprise we have allowed
That would be homicide no. 14 for this year by my reckoning and the year still have 3 and a half months to go with independence the WCMF and Christmas to go in that time. Plenty of opportunity for crime again. And we want foreign visitors to come and spend their money here? Think about that, is a very negative image we creating. Who is in charge, if anybody at all.

Profound condolences to the family of the victim. The unnatural and unexpected death of a loved one usually leaves members of the departed inconsolable.
Before the last two decades, these frequent shootings were foreign to Dominica. It is no coincident that since the ascension of the present occupant of the OPM things in the country have soured for most citizens.
We have seen an unprecedented rise in the shooting deaths of young men. We have also experienced the death of the banana industry, ROSS University, the public library, transparency and accountability in government, self-independence, in fact, our democracy has been overthrown.
The problem in Dominica is ONE man. Get rid of him from the political landscape of Dominica and his acolytes will fall also. Then Dominica will be able to rise from the decadence it has presently found itself in today.
A death is always sad no matter the cuz and for that I express my sympathy to the family of the deceased.
