The Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business, and Export Development, after the review of
petroleum product prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene for this regulatory cycle, has recommended changes in the prices. Cabinet has therefore approved a reduction in prices as follows:
With immediate effect, the new price for gasoline is $16.38 per gallon, a reduction of $2.28 per gallon. The price of diesel has been reduced by $0.76 to $16.37 per gallon and kerosene has been reduced by $0.77 to $15.90 per gallon.
Notwithstanding these price decreases, the Government of Dominica will continue to apply measures to cushion the impact of increased petroleum product prices until the retail price of each product returns to below EC $15.00 per gallon. This includes:
1. A waiver of the Customs Service Charge on Gasoline and Diesel (High Sulphur Diesel
(HSD) and Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD)); and
2. A subsidy on the Landing Cost of Gasoline and Diesel amounting to EC$ 0.85 per
gallon on Gasoline and EC$ 0.21 per gallon on Diesel
In the absence of these interventions by the Government of Dominica, the retail prices for
these products would have been as follows: Gasoline EC$ 18.08 and Diesel EC $17.35
The Government remains committed to taking measures that will cushion the impact of
globally affected prices on the consuming public.
Price of fuel go down everywhere except here in Dominica. All you taking out some of all you to fool the people into believing fuel price go down…. Look pappy-showness
Since promotion of agriculture, maintaining an environmental mindset, and mitigating the high cost of imported petroleum products are all issues for government, I still say that policymakers should consider developing a programme in Dominica to promote a local biodiesel industry.
As with every issue that affects the entire populace, Roosevelt and his sycophants has made the rise and fall of fuel prices a political football.
This latest move purportedly to lower fuel prices is to score big with the struggling citizens. Imagine, the amateurish cabinet raised the prices of fuel last week, now that bus drivers have plans for industrial action, they have lowered it minimally.
Look out for showers of praise for the corrupt regime from its misguided supporters.
It is you IBO who is trying to make everything politics.Out of twelve(12) comments on this subject you gave five(5)preaching politics. The majority of Dominicans can read, write and understand unlike the uneducated handful of JAH KAS.ES led by you.You thought the public vehicle drivers would go on strike to punish school children and the working public. The drivers are a lot smarter than you think.Everything posted in your favour by DNI is okay. When your lies, fake news and propaganda is exposed, you try to take DNO to the cleaners.Get off your lazy,B and be a footsoldier for UWP.JAH KA.S.Dominicans Mr.JAH KA.S IBO know and keep abreast of the war between Russia and Ukraine so they know about gas and gas prices.
There are so many burning issues relevant to the governance of the country in the most recent relevations in the Director of Audit report. True to form, DBS, DNO, Kairi, GIS, have nothing to report about the many transgressions of good governance and laws of the land.
Instead, all four, prefer to elegantly air the Big Lies, distortions and skulduggery of the most horrendous, barbaric, anarchical administration on the globe.
They should be excoriated and upgraded for silence to this corruption, banditry and cruelty gives consent.
I deliberately withhold my criticisms of Nature Isle News, for if it get as many as three (3) people to visit it, it’s an excellent day for the news site.
At a time when price of gasoline products are going down worldwide it’s time for the consuming public in Dominca to see some reductions in the prices. I’m assuming that this is just an initial price movement downwards and that more reductions will be forthcoming soon. Once again I’m wondering where is ALBA and the PetroCaribe component which is to help with reducing the burden of high gas prices. Our fellow Caricom neighbors in Trinidad and Guyana have large deposits of oil are the leaders in Dominca reaching out to try and secure energy supplies at concessionary prices. Where is the leadership when it’s most needed. It appears that the only focus of the ruling cabal is to sell passports. Dominca deserves better.
Alba and PetroCaribe are no longer. Since the CM decided to default on a US$100million loan arrangement and Venezuela had to write the money off, who can blame Venezuela for not sticking to their side of the agreement. The question remains, were is all this money gone. Ask the CM, ask Austrie, ask Denise Charles! None of your damn business you’ll get as a reply. Well my friends, it’s time that all you make it your damn business, because sooner rather than later all you won’t have a damn business anymore. The chickens are about to come home to roost!
First they hike up prices with the customs service charges and landing cost and then they reduce it to show all you what a caring government you have. Haven’t you seen through them yet?
Exactly my thoughts. Deception at its best. They think that Dominica is an intellectual desert.
Government can do what it want. At this point i am so over it all. Steal money, give stolen money to undeserving people, use stolen money to build sub par housing for undeserving people to wash the stolen money, raise or lower gas prices, call election when you want, steal the election, make people wear mask when noowhere else in the world still using mask like that. and i could go on and on. They can do what they want. Dominicans just have to shut up and eat it. Every nation deserves the leaders it gets.
You summed it up in a few short sentences and you are right on the money!
@If We Knew Better
Sound statement that cannot be refuted- the INCONVENIENT TRUTH.
I guess 76 cents is enough to write home about. Such mediocrity is not only distasteful but overwhelmingly insulting. Poor people stop electing idiots
Fellow Dominicans you need to push the barrier for further reduction. Guys pressure can burst pipe. Just imagine, they must have heard the anger on the street. There have not been any demonstrations yet but cabinet have backdown.
It amazes me as I find it difficult to understand why isn’t there more pushback from citizens on important issues.
My people, stop being afraid of them clowns but instead show that the power are in the people. The cabinet knows that the police is going to protect them but hey the police can arrest call the civilians in a demonstration so let hit the streets and protest for better pay and all that is necessary to allow us to enjoy the benefit of our beautiful island
This cunning, conniving, deceptive cabal should get no commendation for raising fuel prices yesterday then pretending to bring relief today with tis specious plan of reduction in prices.
Look at the last paragraph, clearly calculated to deceive to curry favour with the public. This is also to stealthily undermine the bus drivers’ demands for an amicable solution to their plight.
While these con artists and villains, who control government, engage in creative enrichment strategies to build on their aristocratic lifestyles, the average citizen finds himself sinking deeper in quicksand of tyranny, misery, and servile poverty.
