The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) won the December 6 general elections in Dominica by a significant majority of 18 seats to 3.
The new DLP cabinet, led by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, was sworn-in yesterday. Some photos taken at the swearing-in ceremony which was held at Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

To the uwp, it’s perhaps the time to go back to the drawing board…. Perhaps they must look deep within… Uwp constantly let the elections evade themm leading down to voting day……

I’m sure Roosevelt and Mellisa would have had a discussion about his ministerial appointments during their pillow chats (as husband and wife) so I suspect that she would have agreed with his decisions in advance of the announcements. I suspect the arrangements would be to keep Mellisa in the background for now in order for those appointed to show their worth and if they fail, maybe over the next couple years she will step in and fill a post where necessary in a cabinet reshuffle. In the meantime she will probably be asked to stand in for the PM when he is out of state. Hence, the reason for not announcing a deputy PM portfolio.

Dominicans now live in modern hurricane resistant housing and you can drive from the airport to Roseau in less than an hour compared to the two or more hours it used to take prior to the upgrading of the roads. and when you do visit you will be amazed to see our five star hotels which you will have the privilege to stay in while you’re here. so please take a leap of faith and come see for yourself. You reading and believing too much rubbish.
$500+ a night US dollars at Kempinski Hotel; WHO is staying there and how are they arriving in large number via small crop duster plane or yacht? Red fools continue to be ignorant in their support of corruption and deception.
You don’t have to stay at Kempinski Hotel if you cannot afford it, other more affordable options are available but if you want five star service you have to expect to pay the asking rate. It’s the same where ever you go in the world, why should Dominica be an exception?
Why do they all look so unhappy and scared wow a picture tells a thousand story
I suppose is because Skerrit took so many portfolios for himself and not sharing the bacon around more evenly. He might soon realize that he took too much on himself (over the next few months) and will probably delegate some of these responsibilities to more of the unhappy looking backbenchers.
The drawback to having won so many seats is the nightmare of having to allocate ministerial posts and keeping everyone happy at the same time.
