The National Joint Action Movement (NJAM) will hold a virtual panel discussion at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, to address concerns related to the alleged abduction/kidnapping and disappearance of twelve-year-old Kernisha Etienne of Warner.
The participants in the panel discussion are attorneys at law Singoalla Blomquist-Williams, Cara Shillingford and John Elue Charles and former senior police officer Nicholas George.
The topic for discussion is “Best Practice in handling crisis situations; kidnapping, abduction, and hostage-taking: The sad situation of Kernisha Etienne”,
NJAM is very much concerned about the well–being of the child and though faced with the reality that only a miracle will lead to her being discovered alive, all efforts must be made to continue the search for Kernisha Etienne to bring closure to the matter.
In this regard, NJAM appeals to the authorities to continue the search and to deploy all the necessary resources and to seek the assistance of our regional neighbors and further afield to help us to bring closure to this heartbreaking situation.
The panel discussion will focus on how to prevent future incidents of that type, considering that criminal activities are usually replicated with the copycat syndrome.
It must be noted that an invitation was extended to the Commissioner or a representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica police service to participate.
NJAM continues to appeal to all Dominicans to remember Kernisha Etienne in their prayers and to stop the politicization of a situation where the entire country is hurting.
The panel discussion will be streamed live on Zoom and broadcast on Q95FM radio. All media houses are encouraged to stream the event on their respective platforms.

A 12 year old child was abducted almost 20 days ago according to the police and, according to the police Keyan Alexander was the abductor and on day police shot and killed by the police which to me signaled the end of the search and today all you talking all you rubbish about panel discussion? Common man from the day police killed Keyan Alexander there should have been non stop massacre protest and peaceful demonstration going on to call for the resignation of Blackmore, Skerrit and top brass of the police. Nicholas Andropov George is one of the highest police and military trained person in the Windward Island.He know the key to finding the 12 year old lies with Keyan mother.He know the police should never allow Matt Peltier to interview the mother on q95.Today the mother’s lawyer has advised her not to speak to anybody on the matter.With Mr George experience he can do better than talking BS.

Kernisha Etienne, alive or dead, will be forever etched in our minds. I’m still holding out for the near impossible to occur, that is, she would be found alive.

The police do not have the confidence and trust of the populace by their actions and inactions. Long after the execution, by police, of the alleged abductor of Kernisha, there has been no press conference by the relevant authorities to inform the country as to specifically what transpired that fatal day.
This is appalling! Only in Dominica these flagrant breaches and abuses of democracy in the OECS go unprotested.
