Nathalie Walsh, a marketing professional with years of experience in marketing strategy and event planning and management, is the new Festivals and Events Manager at the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA).

She assumed the position on March, 13, 2023.

In her new role, Walsh will be responsible for the execution of Dominica’s signature entertainment events- Mas Domnik-The Real Mas, the World Creole Music Festival, Jazz n’ Creole and several smaller festivals.

She gained visibility in her field, as Head of Commercial, Sales & Marketing Manager for telecommunications company, DIGICEL from 2006-2017.

As part of its mandate, the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) aims to showcase Dominica’s music, arts and culture at major festivals, locally and in regional and international markets.

“Together with the team I will work to excite and inspire our existing, new and potential event sponsor partners to drive the industry. We hope to create an amazing mix of brands with excellent content, supported by leading industry experts and change makers,” Walsh says.

Minister of Tourism, Hon. Denise Charles welcomed the new events head to the DFC/DDA team, noting that her private sector background and leadership experience have prepared her to drive the events and entertainment pillar of the Ministry of Tourism.

Walsh is tasked with raising the standards and user experience at events and increasing visitor arrivals to the destination to meet 2025 arrival targets.

Her first order of business is the Jazz’n Creole, a fusion of jazz and creole music, food, fashion and culture, set for April 30th at Fort Shirley in the Cabrits National Park.
