Six (6) frontline officers from Dominica have successfully completed the two-week 2024 Cochran Fellowship Training Programme in Smart Agriculture and Extension at Florida International University (FIU) May 19-31st 2024.
The Cochran Fellowship Program, named in honor of the late U.S. Senator William Thad Cochran, offers short-term training opportunities to agricultural professionals from middle-income countries, emerging markets, and emerging democracies. The program aims to help these countries develop agricultural systems necessary to meet the food and fiber needs of their populations and to strengthen and enhance trade linkages between eligible countries and agricultural interests in the United States.
The officers who completed the programme are:
- Adina James from the North Region
- Agnes Pierre from the South Region
- Lanelle Lawrence from the Southeast Region
- Keanu Isles from the South region
- Norman Alexander from the Southeast Region
- Don Mitchel from the South Region
