STATEMENT: The Government of Dominica on the situation in the Middle East

PM Roosevelt Skerrit

March 04, 2026

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica expresses deep concern over the dangerous escalation of tensions in the Middle East, including recent developments which have heightened insecurity across the wider Gulf region.

At this delicate moment, Dominica underscores the urgent need for calm, restraint and responsible leadership. We firmly believe that even the most serious disputes must be addressed through dialogue, diplomacy and full respect for international law.

We are particularly concerned by actions which threaten the sovereignty and security of countries in the Gulf region, place civilian lives at risk and further destabilise an already fragile region. Any widening of the conflict will only deepen uncertainty, intensify suffering and diminish the prospects for peace.

The Government of Dominica therefore calls on all parties to exercise restraint, to refrain from further acts which may inflame tensions and to recommit to peaceful engagement. The protection of civilians, respect for territorial integrity and the preservation of regional stability must remain paramount.

The Government of Dominica applauds the leadership, restraint and maturity demonstrated by the Governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain. Dominica supports all genuine international and regional efforts aimed at de-escalation, humanitarian relief and the achievement of a just and lasting peace.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this crisis. This is a time for wisdom, statesmanship and renewed commitment to peace. The people of the region, and the wider international community, deserve a future shaped by stability, dialogue and hope.

I have serious doubts that de leader of Dominica Parliament and de author of this are de same person.
When elections are called a wide range of voters do not vote based on de political talk coming from a PM of such character…………we know this………..trinkets are very attractive and distracting to real issues.
    people get paid
to talk, to support, to write, to incite,
    Deep concern?

The government of Skerrit should be very worried with the situation in the Middle East because the Middle East has more CBI Dominican citizens than those of us residing in Dominica, especially if a quarter of them would run to their second home to hide like Alereza Monfared did a few years ago. In the meantime, we the citizens of Dominican are worried about the possibility of the US finding a few of our CBI passports in the hands of those attacking the US because that would definitely cause the US to punish us some more, thanks to the Corruptwealth of Dominica and Skerrit

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 12 Thumb down 9
