TK International ‘brings the house down’ during their 4th appearance at Caribbean Flag Fest

The Nature Isle flag was once again on full display at this year’s Caribbean Flag  Fest thanks to Dominica’s very own dynamic Triple K International, who  “brought the house down” at the event in St Maarten over the weekend.

Speaking to Dominica News Online (DNO) on their performance, Band Manager Jeoffrey Joseph, said the group was elated to represent the country for the fourth year at the prestigious festival and to “raise the Dominican flag high.”

Even after a two-year hiatus, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Joseph revealed that it felt natural to be back on stage representing Dominica and bouyon music and the reaction of the crowd boosted the spirit of the band.

“There was a really large cross-section of people who all enjoyed the performance, who were all singing, jumping, waving, prancing, sending water, raising their hands in the air, raising their flags in the air and really having a good time after this pandemic period,” he said.

“So the reaction was just superb. It was actually thrilling and it was also a bit of a shiver moment. Because you realize how fickle life is and how things can change in the blink of an eye. So, when you have these moments, and you can experience such great times and great moments, you have to really enjoy them, absorb them and be thankful for them,” Joseph added.

Having represented the country on numerous occasions in the international and regional community for over two decades, he stated that such opportunities have somewhat become the “come zone” of the band as they do not give exposure to the band but to Dominica’s rich vibrant culture as well.

As to TK International’s next move, given the return of some sense of normality, Joseph responded by saying that “ the sky’s the limit.”

“With the current schedule that we already have, there are so many events that we are scheduled to perform at and there are also many other events that we are working on, to ensure that we carry the flag high and we carry the bouyon music, and TK International around the world,” he said.

Regionally and internationally, the band’s roster of performances within the next few months includes carnivals and events in Antigua, St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, Marie Galante, the US mainland and the Virgin Islands, London in May and France towards the end of the summer, to name a few.

Joseph also told DNO that the band has several events planned for Dominica to bring an end to the entertainment ‘drought’ that their fans have been experiencing.

“ So, we’re looking forward to flooding the markets again and to making sure that people get their fix in Dominica for bouyon music and TK International,”  the TK manager said.

“It has been circulating that creole festival is in the making and also carnival next year, so we are looking to see if the government will engage us for WCMF but the band has already informed its patrons who participated in previous mega Mondays that we will be having mega Monday 2023, so this is something that they can be on the lookout for,” he continued.

Although he notes that the pandemic was a somewhat emotionally depressing period, Joseph pointed out that the band never ceased its productions and used the opportunity to delve into other genres such as soca, afro beats, and even brought about a new twist to the bouyon music, with what they have dubbed “bouyon soft rock.”

The TK International manager issued a call to all Dominicans to continue to observe the health and safety protocols which have been established by the ministry of health as he warned that we are not yet out of the woods when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zandolie, I did not write that nonsense; read any and everything I ever wrote on DNO se if you find me writing Dominica as such (domonica), never mind dominicans; the person is a dumb uneducated idiot impostor.

You see if the persons E-mail address is genuine they can utilize anybody name as they done to me.

The administration can identify that person, and block them from using another persons name.

I had a website and anybody who wrote anything using a fictitious name or forged a name I could identify them.
If the administration look into it they will find the E-mail address used is different to mine!

You missed the point; only an idiot writes the name of people animals place or things in all lower-case letters, as well as writing in all upper-case letters.

Anybody who finished kindergarten class should know that is taught in grade1: when I went, they called it Stage 1 in Wesley many moons ago, that’s what I was taught.

In collage, I lost ten points in an English class because I errored starting a sentence with a lower-case letter.
When one takes a test in collage your passing grade might be 20 or 30 points, if you lose ten you get perhaps a “c” rather B, or an A.

I don’t care what people do, but don’t use my damn name in their thing!
