Tropical Depression Three has upgraded to Tropical Storm Bret.

According to the 6:00 pm weather advisory from the Dominica Meteorological Service, Tropical Storm Bret’s current location places it about 1280 miles East south east of Dominica in the Central Tropical Atlantic.  The Met Office report states that the storm is moving westward at about 21mph. and at this current speed, it could start affecting the region by Thursday 22nd at about 10:00 am.

The Met Office says it will continue to monitor the development of Tropical Storm Bret and advises Dominican residents to closely monitor Tropical Storm Bret and ensure that they have their hurricane season plans finalized and ready for activation to protect life, property and livelihood.

Meantime, according to 6:00 pm weather advisory, weak surface instability is expected to produce a few showers tonight over the island. From Tuesday night into Wednesday, the passage of a tropical wave is expected to support an increase in showers, with a chance of thunderstorms in the area.

Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with waves up 7.0ft and increasing, along the eastern coast.

“If you not Red you dead!” Thank God, Mother Nature and natural disasters do not recognize, victimize or differentiate political party colours. In the face of natural disasters we are al dead, anyone of us. So let us all be caring to all Dominicans and stop the political victimization.
