WEATHER UPDATE (6:00 PM, Sept 30): Light winds and possible cloudiness, showers, thunderstorms during next 24-48 hrs

Unstable conditions are expected to result in an increase in cloudiness with showers and possible isolated thunderstorms across the area during the next 24 to 48 hours. Light winds will also be evident.

People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks should remain on alert.

Meanwhile, tropical storm Victor located in the eastern tropical Atlantic poses no direct threat to Dominica as it moves west northwestward.

Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 7.0ft. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. An increase in wind speed and wave heights can be expected during the weekend.
