Mr. Skerrit’s budget speeches and Independence addresses are similar. Revisit his last ten (10) budgets and Independence speeches. They are replete with magnificent promises of the future. One would have thought that Dominica would be a land of utopia by now.

Today, Dominica is a land of abject misery (extreme poverty, astronomical unemployment, a criminal paradise, bad governance, entrenched dictatorial rule, low productivity, widespread corruption, underwhelming development, high inflation, moral decadence, environmental degradation, hyper political partisanship, decimation of the middle class) etcetera.

Under Skerrit’s stewardship, this once resplendent and prosperous nation is now a bruised, battered, poverty-stricken, emaciated, failed STATE.

PM Skerrit clearly do not agree about the best solutions to the country’s biggest problems. But while those disagreements are fierce, they are not as strong as his feelings of DISTRUST, DISLIKE and DISDAIN for people who belong to the OPPOSING political party, particularly UWP. In fact, he has developed such harsh antipathy for his political opposites (particularly UWP) that he exceeds the level of camaraderie he feel for those who vote the same way. It is these personal antipathies more than differing political beliefs that are driving Dominicans’ divisions.

To hear PM Skerrit describe Ed Registe as “a brother, a comrade, a sitting Minister of Government and Parliamentary Representative, who died in the service of his nation and people.” Yet PM Skerrit who is also finance minister could not and did not condemn Regional Austrie for giving Grandbay people and Dominicans the impression that Ed Registe stole money given to him for his constituency is reall telling, if not hypocritical.
Also, the fact that Vince Henderson was in Dominica months before Ed Registe died as if he was on waiting on something and when PM Skerrit told Grandbayrians to accept his choice because he needs someone that can represent Da abroad and his future political plan to retire, he left the impression that Ed Registe was of no help to him in terms of his future political plans and I now strongly wonder IF, Ed Registe death was hastened or plans were already in place because Ed Registe was very sick and they were all awaiting his death. Something doesn’t sound right

Sadly, we also lost the Hon. Edward Registe, a brother, a comrade, a sitting Minister of Government and Parliamentary Representative, who died in the service of his nation and people. I wish to once again express deepest condolences on behalf of myself, my family, my government, and the people of Dominica, to the family …
It always alright to keep expressing sadness for the loss of a friend, comrade and brother etc. But this time it is clear to me that something very heavy about Ed Registe’ death is really troubling Skerrit as if he feels guilty about something.
Look, I didn’t expect PM to mention the name of Ed Registe and to describe him with such wonderful words. But since he said Ed was so much then why did he not clear the air or condemned the statements of his senior cabinet ministers Regional Austria, who just acted as PM?. Reggae all but alluded Ed Registe stole billions of dollars altogether he didn’t use the word stole. PM is finance minister why not clear the air?

Since pM chose to bring back Ed Registe to the conversation, why did he not use the opportunity to correct or condemn Reggae Austrie statement? PM is it because you are in agreement with Reggie and as finance minister you told that to Reggie? Or PM since you know Mr Registe is dead, is that the DLP way of saying the missing 4.5 billion Hon Linton has been asking about is in the hands of ministers but they will only be accused when they are dead and can’t defend themselves?

Now PM since you choice to talk about Ed Registe and described him with such wonderful words, let me now ask if Ed Registe was sacrificed or he died a normal death? I am asking because of the following events:
      1. Strange that Vince Henderson was in Dominica months before Ed’s death as if he was waiting on something
      2. You hand picked Vince as your candidate and you told Grandbay people that you needed someone that could represent Dominica abroad and., in terms of ur political future. Wow mr PM ur political…

But I had already heard Skerrit’s National Day address at the Azaban Supermarket. All you didn’t hear it then? Well DNO you must post the videos of the Independence Day address Skerrit and his friends gave in Azaban. So what? Skerrit has an address in Azaban and a different one in Dominica then? Boy I prefer the one in Azaban because it more powerful and the entire world heard it because it was read in many different languages. The one he gave here was just a Tim Tim bwa shesh that only a handful of Dom-in-a-can could listen to

The last time Skerrit read a National Address of independence his friend Alireza Monfared was selling Dominica online, on mydominicstradehouse. Needless to say that Iran jailed Monfared hours before Skerrit was about to address the National Youth Rally, which resulted in Skerrit cancelling the youth rally and blamed it on bad weather. Truth is, he could not address the youth with his friend and partner being jailed.
This time around he read the National address at a time when our passports are being sold at the Azaban Supermarket and I wouldn’t be surprised Anthony Hayden is is playing the role of Alireza Monfared somewhere.
At the rate Skerrit going with our passports next time we will here our passports are being sold in some casino somewhere

Skerrit is nothing more than the mouth, the feet and hands of Anthony Hayden, Prime Minister of Dominica. So Skerrit read the address written by Prime Minister Anthony Hayden

Same old lies of Satan that he’s told before. See Matt4-8-11
8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Great Independence message. A sign of hope and encouragement for our youths and the older citizens. The progress we all make and will make is not always how rich we are. There are signs of progress and continued progress which makes our people happy and to not despair even in the face of all adversities. We will all overcome one day, someday. We all love our Dominica. Let the love all fall down like rain, jah, jah. God bless Dominica and its people.

Excuse me folks but I did not listen to Skerrit’s speech. I have more important things to do with my time than to waste it listening to garbage.

The only thing that Dominicans are likely to celebrate in these perilous economic times is the departure of Roosevelt Skerrit, his unlettered wife and sheep-like enablers from the political landscape of Dominica.

Dog Biter, every thing about your comment is so bad I feel embarrassed for you. You should have ‘extinguished’ those comments before posting them. It is truly a shame that an elderly former soldier writes like a grade 2 student.

Instead of putting all your energy and time to denigrate Mr. Linton et al, focus more on your self development. Make a genuine effort to improve your literary skills. I’m very serious. No one is too old to learn. Good luck to you.

@Ibo France, 2022, 2023, and 2024 year-end, that means the DFP, if the leader continues lighting up the way he is doing right now, and with a good team-mate, his party may heading into a strong Opposition Party at the next General election.

You need to get off the back of PM Skerrit and start educating your high school drop-out leader. But you will need to leave out that out-of-the-world encyclopedic vocabulary that you use here. I am sure that he will not understand you.

Define ‘independence’. It seems to me that this country is entirely dependent on finance from other nations, selling passports to shady foreigners, and donations from charitable organisations.

“We are changing the landscape of Dominica…”

This is certainly true in all aspects of the built environment, but is it being done in harmony with the land?

The identity of places reflects the identity of ourselves.

Key missing points from the so called address:

    – Fellow Dominicans, I destroyed the banana industry that I met and replaced it with the sale of your passports. I did it because too many farmers were free and I didn’t like the idea of farmers bananas on the shelves of British Supermarkets. So now you must depend on me plus your passports made it to Supermarket shelves of Azaban.

    – I got rid of Ross University for three reasons:
    1. I didn’t like the American presence
    2. Ross reminded me of the accomplishments of Rosie Douglas influence
    3. Too many Dominicans gained an income from Ross and that made them too free
Right now I have five universities that have signed contracts for Ross

-Fellow Dominicans, this is my last time addressing you as PM, as you know when Vince is elected I will make him president and seize the presidency for life like Fedel Castro, Chavez and all the ottoman dictators I admire
