On August 27, Kimisha Thomas, Senior Policy Advisor in the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernization and Kalinago Upliftment in Dominica traveled to the United States to participate in a special project entitled Climate and Energy Innovation in the Caribbean.
The project is part of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). During the three-week program, she will assess the status of the current policy framework of national and international environmental laws, protections, and conservation efforts to address climate change and associated impacts.
Additionally, the project aims to identify common challenges and gaps for strengthening climate resilience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects.
The IVLP is the Department of State’s premier professional exchange program which brings together emerging leaders in their respective professions to engage with U.S. counterparts and share best practices with program participants.

The fact that they are employed with the regime already tells the story. Only subservient easily manipulated people get these positions with this government. Being opinionated and strong-willed disqualifies you from being employed with them.

By the way, I wrote a comment of the said Chief when the article was published and DNO put cutlass in it……hmmmmmmm. No need to cry over it because DNO knows when I write it cannot be legally challenged but its their paper and so they have the RIGHT to do as they please when they choose.

Accountable to whom? Surely not to the man that erased this ‘dirty’ word from his dictionary almost 20 years ago?He never ever practiced it since, even though the constitution demands it. Having said that, remember his expression ‘no law and no constitution…’? Well done DNO.

One question: Is she Kalinago? If not why is she working on Kalinago issues when there are able bodied and highly qualified and professional Kalinagos who are best suited for this position to represent their people?
