1st Mahaut Guide Company launches commemorative magazine: celebrates 55 years of existence

A milestone was reached with the launching of the 1st Mahaut Guide Company 66 page Commemorative Magazine highlighting 55 years of its existence.

The group  was formed by Mrs. Annette Johncharles Stedman in 1965  and enrolled on June 22nd 1966 with Agnes Ford Isidore  as its first Captain and Alliana Seraphine Samuel and Agatha Theophile-Eloi (longest serving member) as Lieutenants.  It remains the leading and longest serving group for girls and young women in the community of Mahaut, having impacted many lives.

The 1st Mahaut Guide Company also launched its two signature Programme to be  awarded annually.

  1. The Agatha Theophile-Eloi Leadership Award :

Criteria –   Must be between the age of 18-25years, demonstrate leadership qualities, must be a current  member of a group serving at the executive level,  passionate about the elderly and less fortunate, facilitate a project which positively impacts the youth.   Jemima Mills is the first recipient  of this award.

  1. The Annette JohnCharles Stedman Scholarship for need:

Criteria: must be attending a secondary school and from a single parent family, has a passion for learning, involve in a community group and cares for the elderly and less fortunate.

The 1st Mahaut Guide Company takes this opportunity to extend our gratitude to all those who provided moral, inkind and or financial support  enabling the successful implementation of our programme over the years.   We wish everyone a spirit-filled season and prosperity and peace in the new year.

The cost of the magazine is only EC$20 US$10 and can be obtained from Commissioner Dublin or Guider Graneau of the Mahaut Guide Company.
