Dominican writers Kristine Simelda and Delroy Williams are among 15 finalists in a Caribbean short story competition. The competition essentially entails a bid by several Caribbean writers to get their short stories published in the Potbake Productions publication, Across The Caribbean.

Congratulations to both individuals! Delroy, I heard you at the Literary Festival this year and you were fabulous. I keep hoping that more young people would be interested in the literary arts. Too few of our kids are reading these days. I guess I should not be surprised at the very few comments on this type of news.

DNO: Meantime I understand Deryck Hunter St. Rose won the Caribbean police calypso monarch. It would be nice to get that story.
