Sunday’s grueling race took the riders on a 160 mile circuit ride through the streets of Warrick.
The riders had to complete a total of ten 16 mile laps.
National Champion Kohath Baron held his own with some of the best riders the world has to offer before he was pulled out from the race after the 5th lap.
Based on the rules of the competition, riders will be automatically withdrawn from the race after falling more than 8 minutes behind the race leaders.
Kohath Baron was among the last group of Caribbean riders to be pulled out.
Kevon Boyd was withdrawn after the 4th lap of the race.
Our athletes have courage. Our nation let them down. Dominica has some of the best mountains in the region to become a cycling world champion. We are strong people, from warrior stock. The Spanish, French and British couldn’t destroy us. How can Dominicans (and their Government) make sure our young people and aspiring athletes get the attention and investment they require to win. Look at Jamaica. They small but might. We are smaller and mightier. If Sewo and shaking your backside on the weekend was a sport you know Dominicans would always win! Shame no body outside our little rock gives 2 patat for it!
Am with you on this. Of course I applaud the effort, they went out there and gave it thier best. But to say they held thier own is a bit unbecoming. If they were able to complete the race, only God knows what would have been written.
@ Ibo..Great job catching those LIERS!!
Lying has become a way of life in Dca for a while now. The call it “alternative truths ! Those who lead the island has made it a MUST have trait so you can be loved and adored. Now, others are following in their footsteps. Sad but true.
You did well and the experience I am sure was a great one for you. Do not be discouraged better is ahead.
I have a greater respect for people who give me the hard truth and not try to make me happy with sweet lies and ‘spin’.
The two Dominican cyclists were pulled from the race after they only completed four and five laps respectively of a mandatory ten because they fell so far behind. Yet, they ‘held their own with some of the best riders the world has ever seen’.
The national who is tasked with releasing these snippets of information makes Paul Joseph Goebbels, who was the chief propagandist of the German Nazi party, seems like a Saint.
