24 year-old wins lotto jack pot of over $600,000

Roberts is the first jackpot winner for 2018
24 year-old Kerishia Eve Roberts of Portsmouth has won the largest lotto jackpot in Dominica since the game was revised a few years ago. Her winning is EC$610,000.00 dollars.
Roberts winning is also the first for Dominica in 2018.
According to her, it was done via a “quick pick” where the machine selects the numbers for you.
A poultry farmer in the town of Portsmouth, Roberts said she intends to “widen her poultry farm and build her house.
“I have no kids, but I reside with my mom and other siblings I will be putting this money into good use,” she said.
She also advises others to “play the lottery game, you just don’t know when you are going to win…I am so happy and excited,” she said.

So where is she supposed to park that money? Under her mattress?

How much are you willing to bet people are going to try to rob her mom’s place just now? Or if she builds her own home? She may have to hire security guards just to keep herself safe.

Mark my words. The level of desperation in Dominica now is high and too real.

Very happy for the young lady. Your plans sound well. Expanding your poultry farm and investing in a home of your own that you can share with your mother and other siblings are just excellent. All the best in your future endeavors.ï

All of her so-called friends and family are going to come out of the woodwork claiming to know her and asking for money especially on Facebook, she needs to be careful of con-artists wanting to separate her from her money with promises galore. It is amazing how many people suddenly appear like magic when someone comes into a lot of money claiming to know them.

      Why are you so ignorant?

Someone, apparently a poor young girl won a small fortune, instead of appreciating the fact that will indeed change her life, you saw it fit to politicized it, couldn’t have left the politics and Lennox out of stupid comment?

Life is not all about politics!

        November 19, 2018

Francisco hear you! Who do so do not like so! Francisco best of luck since you seem not to politicising anymore. I will tell you then “you saw it fit to politicized it, couldn’t have left the politics and Lennox out of stupid comment?” I will use your own statement and change the word “Lennox” and replace it with “Skerro”.

My vengeance is not with the innocent people like that young lady, vengeance is against the red devils like you Roosevelt and all of you labor eh!

Someone is telling her to leave Portsmouth, I want to know go where, further education, as if she told them she wish to further education, that is some nonsense I’ve heard in Dominica when I was a boy; how does one further their education, there is no such word anywhere else except Dominica.

You one can only go through an educational system elementary, college, or university, college and university simply means a higher institution of learning.

What you cannot get in a four (4) year college you can get it in a University where the curriculum is higher, the sciences are more advance, and that’s it!

In some disciplines one can do a refresher, but that is not furthering studies or…

Her investment would be very fruitful because Mr Linton has done well for himself, unlike others who had to be in Government to own a car and house.

Young lady , put the majority of the money in a secure account and leave Da to further your education . You are a farmer now but may need business management experience, to know how to handle your money . Of course you could further enhance your knowledge farming , but out of Da . If you stay down there it wouldn’t take 2 years to be asking yourself where all your money went to? it filtering through your fingers just like that .
Remember, a fool may have money, but it takes a wise person to spend it. All kine of relatives and friends will come a knocking.
      Good luck.

      • November 19, 2018

“If you stay down there it wouldn’t take 2 years”

@Dee it is the mentality of people like you, which is the reason why our Dominica is so slow in economic development–while you are somewhere outside of Dominica criticizing the Government, saying that they are not doing anything for Dominica. People like you fail to understand that the Government can do nothing on their own–unless the financial resources come from their own purse–but where in the World does this happen?

Now, this young lady says that she has a poultry farm and the money to invest in the farm to make it a great business for the country and its people, but you are advising her to take her money and run.

Run to where? The USA, Canada, or Britain? Don’t forget that $600 000 EC can be reduced less than half of it’s amount in any of those countries.

I am not in the habit of calling names , but i am tempted to ask you what other name you go by?Please read and analyze my comment, which i think i am entitled to .She was advised to secure the money in a bank ,i never said a foreign bank .
Bringing politics into my comment implies that you would encourage to let the Government Ministers get their hands on the girls money .It is only logical to assume she would not have the financial experience to utilize the cash wisely .
I know an individual ,a very close one to me, who gave his cousin over $5000 from his winnings, to assist him with his fishing equipment , today they are not on speaking terms,as he returned for more, to buy gas ,his request was declined as all de man money finish, helping relatives and villagers. Now they all asking where his money went to .
Let me also ask you(if you’ve heard of a man called BooGar) a UK Pools winner,The biggest ever chance winner of Dominica, he died a pauper

you know, and i know, the number of knocks she would get on her front door ,
you know as well as i do , the tears she would now see .
if she happens to be a kind hearted person , you know as well as i do
      the money will filter .
if she is out of Da for a while (while she is educating herself) the money safe .
or rather, the majority of it .

You see I did not criticize her; eh, eh, eh?

Let us hope she does not blow it up, buying cars and cloths: Because I am profitable in Real Estate, if I had a suggestion for her, I would invest into Some Real Estate.

Investing in land and  house is one of the best investment; it  always there, the building will deteriorate, if not maintained properly. However, money invested in Real Estate is not easily lost, in fact the value in Real Estate does not depreciate.

Here is what that means: I bought a house in 1984, when I first came to Los Angeles, I paid $68,500.00 dollars for it. Right this very minuet that same property, three weeks ago was appraised at a value of $600,000.00 thousand dollars.

My initial down payment was $5,500.00 dollars: So, $600,000.00 – $68,500.00 = 531,500.00. If did put that five thousand five hundred dollars in the bank and leave it there for thirty years getting 1% interest per as they pay on savings here, there…
