Dominicans have contributed several dollars more for earthquake-hit Haiti.
A total of EC$100, 000 represented the first disbursement, of which the National Bank of Dominica (NBD) contributed EC$50, 000.
The funds, deposited into a special bank account at the NBD, have been handed over to the Dominica Red Cross.
The NBD launched the ‘Help Haiti Fund’ in February to particularly assist children of Haiti, orphaned as a result of the January 12 earthquake, that reportedly claimed more than 200, 000 lives.
Dominicans are still being encouraged to make contributions to the NBD account number 1000067576. Contributions can be made through the bank’s ATM machines, online, at any of its branches or through its MoBanking service.

I am very proud when a story like this is publish knowing that Dominicans, despite tough economic times. are able to contribute so generously to the less fortunate. Stories like those make me proud to be a Dominican.
God bless Dominica.
