Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has said that 11 persons have been confirmed dead and 21 missing as a result of Tropical Storm Erika.
The Prime Minister had earlier indicated that 20 persons had died as a result of the storm.
Two French nationals are among those missing.
According to him, the 21 include residents of Petite Savanne, three from Bath Estate, three from Coulibistrie, one from Delices and one from Castle Bruce.
He continued, “I have been told that two French nationals are also missing.”
“Obviously the numbers will change…,” he stated.
X:( this day have entered in our history books and will remain in our minds till the end of our days..
Only one person from Coulibistrie has died. No one else is missing.
So sorry to know of their deaths. Tropical storm Erika dealt Dominica a hard blow and an unexpected one.
May God console their grieving relatives and friends.
May their souls rest in peace. Amen!
The next few months or even years ahead, is going to bring a real tough time for all involved in the restoration of our Dominica and the livelihood of her people
I am glad to know that Prime Minister Skerrit is not going into this alone–having including Mr. Linton and his members of Parliament to go it with him, and his crew of Government–as a unit.
And so, I pray that our God will bless all –with the regenerating strength–both physically and spiritually. Peace, self-control, humility, and trust, are the keys that is need to enter the doors of this calamity, which has left stricken and fallen to the ground, in order to exit with victory.
Dear God, I pray that You will hold fast to the minds of Authority for both Government (the Ruling and the Opposition) as You fill them with sound wisdom to work with You on behalf of our Dominica and her people, for effectiveness. Let Your Will be done for the sake of our homeland, O Lord! In Jesus Christ. Amen

Today the number reduced to 11? When you quote the Prime Minister you know you not spreading false alarm right? This is not Matt,…
I me and 1 first, u all must understand the english language and how death in a disaster is handled. The prime minister said that 11 have been confirmed dead, but there is another 21 missing, obviously presumed dead. As far as i learnt the 11 confirmed dead may mean they have recovered 11 bodies. So all the news you highlighted from cnn etc is not wrong in saying that 20 persons or may be more than 20 persons are dead. It is the same maths as our authorities. I hope u understand, and it is clearer to u know.
At that time, the number probably included those who are missing and presumed dead, as their own family reported.
My condolences to their families. Very sad.
But wait nobody know what they talking about. Everytime I read I getting a different figure for that death toll. A time I hearing 30 a time 20 a time 5. Which is it.
Saddened, it does not matter the number now, the fact is people are dead as a result of this disaster.
Why the rush in getting stories out? A simple editing eye will catch the repetitive lines in your story. Thanks for your commitment in keeping us informed though.
