Fanatik band member hospitalised after falling from truck

Linden Lestrade

Linden Lestrade, a member of music band Fanatik, has been hospitalised after he fell from the band’s truck this afternoon during jump-up.

The accident reportedly occurred close to the old market area in Roseau.

Lestrade is the son of former police commissioner Matthias Lestrade.

Fanatik Inc officially launched their self-titled album ‘Fanatik’ in February at Club 91 (Krazy Koconut).

I never realized that Dominicans are so ignorant and hateful. No wonder that place is so undeveloped and poor because of the small minds of the people there. Poor Dominica was a place i once like but after reading these comments and see how you people think it is sad to even consider liking it anymore. People develop your minds and help improve the status of your country and ask God to cleanse your hearts from the evil and bitter thoughts that dwell there.

When will Dominicans have anything good to say about any situation???? So much for a religious Nation!!!!! Karma or NOT … what does that have to do with what God has in store for all of us? Like it is said IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN TO YOUR FRIEND / FAMILY MEMBER would you have said the same thing? Would you be thinking the same way?

It is time that we all be MATURE in our thinking and stop casting judgement or trying to say what should or should not happen to people. There is ONLY ONE JUDGE and ONLY HE DECIDES all our fates!

  11. Roz
    March 9, 2011

All these people talking about “don’t judge” you know what? Why then do we have a justice system where people ultimately go before a JUDGE? It is supposed establish how to fairly and justly treat our fellow men. And yes we judge on whether the judge’s rulings fairly adhere to the rules. I always say treat others how you would have them treat you. To me that is the ultimate judgement. If you wouldnt want someone else to do it to you, then it cannot be good. Simple.

I DO NOT KNOW WHY WE CHOOSE TO HARBOUR HATE IN OUR HEARTS, THIS GUY DID SOMETHING SOME TIME AGO AND HE WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO THE COURTS AND IF JUSTICE IS NOT DONE THEN THAT IS BETWEEN HIM AND HIS GOD. THIS IS A HUMAN LIFE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE, JUST AS IT WAS HIM WHO FELL OF THE TRUCK IT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN ANYONE OF US OR SOMEONE RELATED TO US. INSTEAD OF BRINGING EACH OTHER DOWN WE SHUOLD TRY TO BUILD THEM UP AND WE THEREFORE NEED TO FORGIVE OUR BROTHER/SISTERS 70X7 JUST AS WE WOULD WANT CHRIST TO FORGIVE US.

I read all the comments on here. Some are positive and encouraging while others are negative and discouraging. Let me just say here that it is time for us Dominicans to start thinking positive and desist from speaking negativity. Dilemmas, accidents, death, mishaps and unforeseen circumstances do happen to the best of us. Today it might be Linden, tomorrow it might be you and I. How do we expect to build this nation of we continue with this kind of mentality? My prayers and well wishes go out to Linden (who I know personally as a friend and fellow-musician) for a speedy recovery and for being back on his feet. In the mean time, rest, chill and take it easy.

I WISH THE BROTHER FEEL AND GET BETTER AS TIME GOES BY. BUT PEOPLE DO NOT BE ALARMED BY THE FACT THAT THE PEOPLE ARE SAYING NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT THIS TRAGIC SITUATION AND THE INDIVIUAL INVOLVED. THESE PEOPLE ARE LIVING BEEN. THE DEAD CANNOT SPEAK. THEY REMEBERED THE PAST CASE THAT JUSTICE WAS NOT SERVED CORRECTLY AFTER HEARING THE EVIDENCE OF THE CASETHIS INDIVIUAL IS INVOLVE IN. IT LOOKS LIKE IT NEVER LEFT THERE MINDS. THE SAYING GOES ,IF YOU DO GOOD , GOOD WILL FOLLOW YOU AND IF YOU DO BAD IT SURELY FOLLOWS YOU. BUT GOD IS A FORGIVING GOD. HE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE. THE APOSTLE PAUL WAS A MURDER AND GOD STILL FORGAVE. SO LET US LEAVE ALL JUDGEMENT TO HIM. WHEN IT RAINS , IT DOES NOT RAIN ON ONE MAN HOUSE. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN TO US HUMAN AT ANY GIVEN TIME, GOOD OR BAD. SO PEOPLE WATCH YOUR REMARKS. DO IT IN A GODLY WAY.

The carnival tradition is aligned with freedom – freedom of speech included. It’s mas and people say what is on their mind during carnival.
Some of us express sympathy and that is kool and kind but if some people dont feel sympathy because of Linden’s brutal act then I can also understand that too.
I believe that people are more or less expressing their disappointment in the justice system rather than just Linden.Unfortunately Linden has benifited from the unbalance justice system in Dominica. It is however unfortunate that the very same people who are mad because of the preferencial treament that Linden received these are the ver same people who cheer on others who break the law and manupilate the legal and justice system to delay jurisprudence and judicial proceedings.

This is so sad, I spent a few minutes reading the hate, unforgiveness and uncaring attitude that we

Dominicans seem to possess. It led me to think REAL HARD of our COUNTRY and what has been

happening in light of the crimes for the past two years. My conclusion is we have become so

cold-hearted and spit out so much hate, that we fail to see THIS IS THE CAUSE OF OUR DEMISE.

DOMINICANS, LET US LOVE EACH OTHER INSPITE OF, ONLY THEN WILL WE GET PEACE IN

I agree we must love, justice is a very important part of love. For healing to take place the wrongs must be amended with justice. One cannot simply allow crimes to go untreated.

Your intentions are noble and I respect that, however, justice has to be applied, whether persons involved get a fitting punish/imprisonment, or he apologises to the family or blood money to the family or something. When a grown man commits buggery with a 6 yr old then kill that child then by technicality he gets away only to be seen on the streets drinking a beer; this is very heartbreaking. This family received no justice; did this killer try to make amends with the family at least through his lawyer? At least to empathize with the family? So my friend we cannot spew love love love.

what is so wrong about carnival isnt it the celebration of our people when we were free from slavery. they took drums an make music. the world has modernize an there is more equipments an more music. where in the bible that it say celebration is wrong?people can go to carnival but is the manner in which one behave is wrong. all the christian people who run an judge people open up your minds. some of you drink an first thing quote the bible to cover up your action ” wine is a mocker strong wine is raging an whosoever thereby is deceive is a fool” stop judge the actions of people cause there is only one judge an stop speak bad of people.

    • **hmmm**

Carnival actually stems from a pagan ritual that had to do with eating and drinking .. glutony and bachanal before Lent when people would all of a sudden become “holy”. Slavery was abolished in August… August Monday is what actually celebrates emancipation. Get

        March 9, 2011

Very intersting observation and you are absolutely right. Carnival in Brazil for instance predates the abolition of slavery there (1888). The origins of carnival are even older than Christendom and the word bacchanal itself is derived fro Bachus, the Greek god of wine……..how appropriate!

    • starring
      March 8, 2011

i dont think carnival before lent has anything to do with slavery, but has everything to do with the lentern season. actually it a catholic festive time which brings an end to eating meat and the beginning of fasting and eating fish during the 40 days of lent— many european countries are having carnivals.

With all this bashing and bashing here about forgiveness and vengeance, I was led to make a comment.

We should say the right thing when these misfortunes happen to someone in our country or society.

I know Greg’s family personally but now is not the time for those things that are being said. We do not know when some misfortune can happen to us. We need to seek the Lords face and pray for our Nation, Our Leaders, Our Children, the Young people and the “Pep” of the Nation – Dominica. We need to repent daily for our shortcomings and talk life on our nation and its people yes life and not curses.

The talents we have are to be used for the Glory of our Creator and this includes tutoring and training other persons as well. To lift them up to glorify the Name of the Lord. He alone is worthy of praise. But at the same time we must respect all our fellowmen. When they stumble we should give a helping hand and try to let them rise. He the Creator is Judge and we cannot judge anyone since he is the one who know the condition of our heart. In our carnal self, we will never understand what it is to forgive. When we become like minded like our Saviour, it is only then we can forgive those who have wronged us and what we feel is pity for the person (s) who did the wrong as we see them as persons lost and who will not see the Kingdom. It is the Fathers wish that not one (none) of us perish. That is why (my personal view) the wicked live longer so they can get a chance to repent of their wrong doing. Remember that Saul who later became Evangelist Paul was “wicked” before he got converted. He only turned when he was struck by the hands of God on the road to Damascus.

So who are we to say that this one and that one cannot change. Our Great Creator is the one who will have mercy upon who he will have mercy.

As a people we need to accept the lord as our personal saviour and be in obedience to him doing his will not our carnal and selfish will. The word (his word) has guidance for everything in life including a lot of the things we indulge in. Yes we created dance, song, sex etc. But we need to follow his word and guidance when we have to do those things. We have an enemy who has come to steal, kill and destroy and he uses all the good things that our Father created to satisfy his own selfish ways and what does he say to us ” Our Father created all those things – sex, music, talents. But the question we need to ask ourselves are we using all those things he created for his Glory and honour? Is lewdness, having sex here and there (commiting sin against your own body) as though one should taste each and all sundry, Nakedness and the songs (real distateful and degrading ) created with the talent given by him in line with his teachings and commandments? The dressings that some of us dress to turn on the other party. If we do not take stock, some persons will soon walk naked and I mean naked taking into account, the skimpy clothing that some wears

Let us be guided by his word and stop making excuses which the enemy infacts wants us to make actually.

I read the headline to this article with the hopes of getting a better understanding of what happened yesterday. However, its amazing at the comments made here..I wasnt aware that the young man has a case pending, nor did I need to know. The important thing here is that we as human beings be compassionate and display a bit more sensitivity to the fact that he could have lost his life. Accidents happen, and can happen to anyone of us whether we are good or bad..never revel in a persons’ bad fortune…I know Dominicans should be more sensible than the comments Im reading here…I hope I wont change my mind on that.

I didn’t know about this young mans past, and nor did I wish to know. What is relevant is that he has had the misfortune of falling of a truck. Thanks goodness he is still alive and lets hope he makes a speedy recovery with no lasting implications.

Dominicans are way to judgemental. Only seeing others faults, but always keen to sweep theirs under the carpet. We ALL have something we want kept quite (if not us personally, then a family member).

To be honest, the first thing that came to my mind was “oh boy, they both suffered head injuries.” I am happy the first young man was able to pull his life together after – i saw him around Roseau this carnival. I hope this one can do the same. That is all.

My friend we have stacks of regulations, laws, by-laws you name it we have it. Trouble is there is little, no- or selective enforcement. You ever heard of anyone arrested for driving under influence for instance? We don’t even have a breathalyzer test. Arrested for dumping garbage, even though notices are posted everywhere threatening a fine of $5,000? Safety & health legislation being observed? Yes, we do have a bureau of standards you may be surprised to learn. We are a society of vai-qui-vai and are surprised and offended when we are accused of not being serious. Have a great carnival and worry about these things “tomorrow”.

I love everyone is asking whether he was not the one who did this and that and even asking for DNO to say he was out on bail or full story – guess DNO is letting us know WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY OR DURING CARNIVAL not one year ago. If you want the story read RELATED STORIES you will get the info.

Let us be logical here the man falling from the truck and whatever he did back then cannot be same news – let us get this right.

I know when it is our family in crisis either side of the situation we would act, think and respond differently so no need to call for DNO to revive the not so present news – no like I do not care, would love to know the outcome too.

Hope he gets better either way for his own good(family friends and supporters) or for the victim’s sake(family friends and supporters) so justice could be served in the matter.

Who is responsible for Justice in our land? It is neither the perpetrators nor the victims of crime. Neither has power over the legal system to acquit or condemn themselves. Who then has the greater evil? You can see how deep these problems go. All the talk here cannot change it but we can change ourselves. May Yahweh help us all through our saviour Yahshua.

Dominicans too hypocrite, I will save my empathy for law abiding citizens, and people who actually deserve it, not a cold blooded attempted murder. People’s idea of justice is for everybody else except my friends and my family, wrong is wrong and if we refuse to condemn it with our laws, then the laws which are greater than ours will force us to understand that no wrong goes unpunished. Unless you make ammends with the victim and your maker, and pay your debt to soceity for your crime WOE BE UNTO YOU.

  35. Eliyah

Another thought for reflection: Remember Wayne? He died at Carnival too at the hands of other Dominicans. Where are the murderers? If Yahweh were delivering Justice and Judgement in this way, they would all be dead or injured right now? What if they live to ripe old ages and we who try to do right die before them, where then is Justice for Wayne? He was unarmed, remember? If he had wronged one of us, maybe we would be on here saying is “Karma!!!” I remember passing through Roseau one Carnival Tuesday night to go get bread after all the celebrations were over. I saw a young man by the old KFC, now Digicel with a stab would to the stomach, on the ground, surrounded by people. It is written “it is not in man to direct his steps.” It means that either Satan direct our steps or Yahweh direct our steps. Only one thing we can control is “Our Choice.” Just as Greg had no control of the moment of his demise, Linden had no control over his? Both of them could have made different choices and the outcome would have been different. Lets say that the Greg incident had turned out differently, if the situation that caused the accident remained, the accident would still have occured. The only difference is everyone would have been sympathetic instead. Lets choose good, so that if evil befalls us, we will still be able to say, “All is well, because my Yah makes all things well.”

  36. Eliyah
    March 8, 2011

My fellow commenters and readers. Linden’s accident is not judgement-day for any incident he may have been a part of. It is written “it is appointed unto man once to die and after death, the judgement.” As it is further written, Good and bad happens to both the righteous and the unrighteous. Even Yahshua, the greatest of the greats was subjected to extreme evil yet he did no wrong. We will only face Yahweh’s judgement at the appointed time, not before and not in this time. Yahshua will return to judge the earth. Sometimes as humans, we take matters into our hands and execute revenge, even that is not judgement, it is payback. “Judgment is mine, saith Yahweh, I will repay.” If this is judgement from Yahweh on Linden, what is it then when the innocent die? and when the righteous die? Let us seek Yahweh while it is early. Let us learn from these incidents and make ourselves right. It could happen to anyone of us. It may not be at Carnival as some of us do not participate in these earthly celebrations but it can be in a traffic accident. it could be in an earthquake? it could be a heart attack, it could be cancer? it could be leptospirosis? it could be anything my friends? Consider these things. Linden if he is not dead has a chance to redeem himself. Greg also has a chance to redeem himself and seek Yahweh. All of us commenting here and now have a chance to redeem ourselves because we are still alive. All we have to do is to seek the way of Yahweh, to follow the footsteps of our saviour Yahshua. That is all. Think on this my friends.

  37. Just Giving My Two Cents
    March 8, 2011

Why are people so hypocrite. I hate when people use God as an excuse to show their true colours. God don’t like ugly – and ugly comes in many faces. It comes when you are vain , and you think you are better than another. It comes when you judge others who are not where you think you are. It comes when you speak bad of and unto others.

So to those so called Christians who lambasting people for “sewoing” and enjoying themselves, remember that all sin is sin… Partying is not a sin – it’s how you party. I have gone to church and seen so called Christians doing all kinds of Jamaican dance hall moves in the church. Did that mean that they were not Christians? No – did that mean their behavior was unchristian like? It could have been only to me – an outsider.

So before you sit behind the pc and condemn those who “sewo” remember that partying is not a crime and it’s the extent to which people do it that may take it to a wrong state. Not all ‘sewoers” are evil doers and so to not all so called “christians’ are christians

She/he without sin cast the first pebble….

Remember there are two forces in this world God and Satan and if it do not glorify God it is definitely glorify Satan. You can put things in whatever manner you want in other to justify what you are doing but it is simply of Satan, like it or not. I would agree with you on the other hand about the Jamaican dance in church and some of the music that some of the churches portray as gospel.

To jusitfy what I am doing…hmm…what i was doing is reading DNO before heading to court…my point was that all sin is sin….and to criticise or judge those who choose to enjoy themselves is just that…criticising and being judgmental. It’s better to advise and say…enjoy yourself in a respectful manner.. etc… why be hypocrite… as a Christian just cuz you have so called found God… those who find God sin just as much …we are all human….

So to the “sewoers” i say enjoy yourself but do it with dignity… there is no harm in enjoying oneself… ppl are to hypocrite…

and to assume that i am justifying “sewo” since that’s the inference you are making…is being judgmental.

  38. Accept your Reality
    March 8, 2011

It’s easy to be furious when we feel that someone is getting away with something, but that particular brand of anger can only be felt when we allow ourselves to forget what we are “getting away” with, thanks to God’s mercy and grace. The only reason we are justified is because of Jesus’ sacrificial death; not because of anything we did. So the rain falls on the just and the unjust – Matthew 5:45

Wow! wow! wow! – you are just something else, the two incidents are totally unrelated – DNO will report on whatever other story when it is necessary – until then, the issue at hand is the fall from the truck. That’s why some people fail exams – we need to understand that we must stick to the topic (answer the question) and not what we would like to topic to have been.

What we should do is make sure when our time comes, we get that chance. Somebody got shot, pray for him, wish him well and leave the rest for God. Somebody fell off a truck, do the same and move on, To say or do otherwise in any of the two circimstances is foolish. when you neighbor house is on fire wet yours. 50. BIGGER MAN
    March 8, 2011

I was quite appalled at some of the comments I read but most disturbed by someone who calls themself ‘Sewo is not of God’. Do you know what it is to be a christian? Do you not know that you are not to judge anyone lest you be judged? If you were half a christian you would not say or do some of the things I saw here. You can sewo for God. In the bible tells you of singing and dancing and of playing instruments while praising God. What bible do you read? The difference is it has to be in God’s name. Carnival is part of our culture. It is what defines us as a nation and as a people. It started as an expression of joy for freedom from slavery. There is nothing wrong with carnival. There is something wrong with lewd and lascivious behaviour. There is something wrong with consuming too much alcohol. And by the way, there is nothing wrong with wine. Jesus even turned water into wine to continue the sewo in the wedding. There is something wrong with illicit sex. Do you know that some of these things go on in the church? I know a lot of churches, especially the pentecostal church, which has a constant sewo. Show the difference.

My other concern is that you chose to answer every word which dropped out of people’s mouth. You profess to be saved, act like it. People are allowed an opinion. Use your time to witness to them instead. Use your time to pray. Use your time to read your bible. There is evil in the carnival band and there is evil in the church. Do you think that saying you are saved and going to church will get you into heaven? Well think again Some of the people you see jumping up will get into heaven and some of those in church will not. It is what is on the inside my friend, not the outside. With this, I do hope you consider your faith and enlighten yourself about the road to the kingdom.

The word of Yahweh says: “Love your enemies. Do good to them that despitefully use you. Bless those that curse you. Forgive men their trespasses that your father in heaven forgive yours. ” Let us pray that men turn from the influence of evil to seek good. The reactions I see here are “human nature” but we must raise above human nature to put on the nature of Yahweh even as Yahshua did when he came to pay for our foolishness. As they did him all their evil, he cried out “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” May Yahweh have mercy on both Linden and Greg and anyone else involved in the matter between them. may he save them from the foolishness of Satan. May Yahweh have mercy on us all and on our country.

I know father that he has made mistakes but it is through your grace we are reborn. The gift of music you give him is your blessing to him, which he uses to promote his country and his band. Tru Blu strongly agree with you my friend. This is what many Dominicans fail to understand. They talk about praying for Linden and are angry when we speak about the filth and oppression Mr. Lestrade committed against Greg.

I’ll maintain my position, if something tragic happens to an innocent and person with good character in the society, then I feel compassion for this person. I pray for them, visit them at the hospital if I can etc. When a person is evil, a menace to the society, killing people, causing public fear, unrepentant etc, when he or she dies why should I feel remorse for this person? I am relieved this person is gone because people can get a relief from this person. It’s like Allah has given us a relief…these are my sentiments.

Linden isn’t really my favorite person in the world but I did have the chance to work with him for several years. So I ask: before that incident name one negative thing Linden was involved in that made him a menace to society?

Hard working and responsible friend, employee and father?
        Band leader.. Impromptu, fanatik
Community oriented and involved in church activities (using his talents)

Linden attempted to kill Greg in cold blood. Up to today Greg still has to undergo treatment ever so often. So I do not care about this Music lover sh*t. I do not care how long you guys worked together. How could he have a good character by pulling the trigger in attempted murder, fails to apologise to a grieving family, goes to play music as if nothing happened? The man had ample time to make it right, you mean to tell me this is the impracticality of christianity? Are you telling me a man can just pull the trigger and no kind of justice is metted? Or, are you denying that Greg was shot by Linden? Are you saying that Greg was a troublemaker? You people need to get off the damn hypocrisy! I do not believe in turning the other cheek. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you, fair and square. Be just for this is nearer to piety.

If the justice system fails to work here, it seems the muslims must establish it’s own justice system in the land. Too hell with the secular pagan laws, we doing our own thing! Sharia in Dominica to anyone who messes around with our people! This is just bogus!

Yes he shot the guy in cold blood and those of you saying otherwise no that is the truth. Has it ever occurred to you that some of those making, as you say, “negative comments” may be relatives of his victim. They are still hurting my friends so in as much as you offer prayers for him please also do so for the victim of his callous act and his family.

It is you God given right to pray for whomever you believe needs prayers but do not decry others for their view. A family is hurting as we speak and I am told that the guy has shown no remorse for what he did. So while you are offering up prayers for him, plese do the same for his victim and the his grieving family; they deserve prayers and comfort also. I will also let you know that i know Greg’s family and while his father and I had our differences, I do feel for him and what he has been going through, compassion should not only be extended to our friends or those we like.

  70. No trouble intended
    March 7, 2011

    To Muslim Always:

Now you talking. Here is my take:

If a man hurts me by accident, no problem. I forgive him and we move on.

If he hurts me intentionally and later he realizes his error and asks for my forgiveness, I will grant forgiveness and we all move on.

If he hurts me or my loved ones intentionally, and the law allows him to get away with it, and he does not ask for my forgiveness, then he will not get my forgiveness. I may or may not choose to pursue him, but I will not feel sorry if bad befalls that individual.

So in simple language, if he shot someone, got away with it in court, did not seek forgiveness from the person or the person’s loved ones, should they pray for him now that he is hurt? Should they feel bad that he had an accident? What would you be saying or doing if he had shot you or your loved one? It is easy to say forgive and forget, until you are the victim. Your tone changes real fast when you or your loved ones are suffering.

Muslim, you make a lot of sense.

        March 8, 2011

Nobody is rejoicing @ vigilante. You have the wrong picture. It’s a matter of principles and justice. When people do evil it leaves with them, Allah also punishes a person either in this life or the hereafter. He wronged Greg big time, by the grace of Allah Greg has another chance to life, if not, he would have been in his coffin. It is Mr Lestrade’s duty to apologise to the family of the man, if he doesn’t have the guts to open his mouth but to write a letter to his family. Put yourself in Greg’s family shoes…People must not support oppression in the land. I believe in justice for all not for one set who has a surname!

  88. Patat
    March 7, 2011

We must begin to have National conversations on the design of mobile stages for Carnival bands in Dominica.

For the last ten years we have taken a liken to increase the number of speakers at the back and front of the trucks for carnival bands and HiFi with little attention paid to safety and disruption of telephone, internet , cable television and electricity services to the residents along the carnival routes

Generally our cultural authorities do not factor risk management in our planning and execution of carnival celebrations. There is no need to reinvest the wheel; a quick look at the carnival related websites of Trinidad’s Carnival will enlighten us so that we can adapt a strategy that is suited for our environment and circumstances.

Thus the effectiveness in which the Police makes their presence felt on the two days of Carnival must be adopted by the City Council , the Red Cross, Fire and Ambulance, and the Solid waste Management Corporation. All these institutions assets must be deployed effectively to obtain the optimum experience for Carnival as a major Tourist attraction.

You almost killed Greg, he got no justice. You intended to kill him, look at where you shot him! Today, the punishment of Allah fell upon you. When you sow bad you reap bad my friend. I hope you will take the time to reflect on your wicked ways Mr. Lestrade.

Also, I do not see why many Dominicans love to feel pity for evil people. The hearts are so inverted. I’m sorry, I only feel sad for victims, not oppressors. I do not judge people’s heart, I judge actions which is permissible.

If you do not judge people’s heart, how did you decide who are the evil people that you claim “Dominicans love to show their pity to”.

But in general the whole thing that you wrote is based on “clear personal jugdment” to every one with the slightest sense of understanding. You even suggested that the man’s accident should cause him “to take the time to reflect on his wicked ways”. If that is not judgment what is?

But who do you think you are, anyway!

@ critic: Mr. Lestrade intended to kill Greg, that is attempted murder in Islamic sharia. You have not been following the case and the pleas of Greg’s family. You didn’t see the articles they posted on DNO during the national season! So I am very much aware about the peace of Islam but there is justice in Islam too. I am not online to please anyone. I say it as I see fit. Is that you are afraid of these juhal you are afraid to stand up for justice? There must be justice in order for peace to occur. Stop the nonsense!

      • Muslim_Always
        March 8, 2011

Man is judged by Islam, not Islam by men. My position towards persons professing Islam but are intentionally evil is the same. If a person makes a mistake and is repentful, I embrace this person with open arms. If a person committs sins and sincerely wants to repent, I still love this person. However, when a person is an oppressor, he loves his oppression, he fails to turn from his wicked ways, how can I love such a person? How do you people judge?

@Roxy: Sorry, a muslim is firm against evil and wicked people. A muslim shows compassion to victims and repentant people. My position is clear towards Mr. Lestrade until it is known he apologises to Greg. In order for him to be forgiven by Allah, he must leave off polytheism and apologise to Greg and his family. What you think, people can just whisper a quick prayer and get forgiveness? It doesn’t work like that my friend.

@ Yes sar: Polytheism is the worst oppression one can commit. The sin is done directly against Allah. My question to you is, how many persons do you invoke in your worship? Do you invoke Jesus and God at the same time? Second, havoc is being caused by all peoples’ on the planet. The zionist media which you are fooled by tries to magnify Islam because they want to rule the world, Islam is in their way, pure and simple. Look at what your zionist friends who claim Judaism and Christianity are doing, they have created war for oil, pure and simple.

You all wicked eh in Dominica. I stand my ground, justice for Greg and Mr Lestrade need to think and repent for the evil he did against Greg, pure and simple!

For your information I have read a lot into the Islam faith that is why I made such comments. It seems like you have taken the matter of justice into your own hands. You decide who should live and should die who should pay and who should not pay. Are you even in sync with your own faith – or maybe you should read a little more. You talk about forgiveness but you seem to hold a bigger grudge than the victim himself. Sad it is that you have to wait for someone to ask for forgiveness for you to show it or give it. – Little faith you have…

        • Muslim_Always
          March 9, 2011

@ covering up for Linden’s fault (not praying): There are practical guidelines for forgiveness. There are categories of sinners. This is not a grudge, this is about justice. I’m tired of this crocodile and hypocritical prayers of you people. You people talk about human rights, a man was shot in his temple area at close range, the man (Greg) was flown to a French country in intensive care, Greg still suffers from the side effects of this bullet wound, has to be treated, this Linden goes about his business whilst Greg is fighting for his life playing music on independence day, he should have been banned from christian music thing until his case in resolved. Linden carried on as if nothing happen, no one on his behalf sent a letter of condolescences, he is suppose to be a ‘christian.’ In Islam we apologise, we discuss things, we write or whatever, you cannot leave a situation like this unresolved. Give the family some closure, all you too wicked.

I do not hate Linden, I do not know the person, I am utterly disgusted with his actions and I have a right to be. This is about justice, I cannot stand filth, oppression and evil.

Some of us have to make a living… Those of us who have talent have the opportunity to share it with others. Accidents happen… Let’s hope and pray he recovers well

Jesus gave his servant talent and went way, when he came back he asked what did they do with the talent and one multiplied it in a way that is pleasing to God…but one hide his in the ground…or as some doing(using it for the work of the devil)…but there is still chance and God’s hand of mercy and forgiveness is always out stretch!

its not about being saved darling, its not once saved always saved..doesnt work that way..its about being saved and continuing to be saved and working towards salvation. it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

You guys are too hypocrite (undercover snakes who come out shouting holy holy whereas deep down you carry come grudge) . There is nothing wrong with sewoing once you sewo in a respectful manner. The guy fell off a truck …wish him well and say a prayer for him.

ohhh and sewo don’t bring glory to God…because it’s self, and it promotes, fornication, and sexual immorality…also drinking excessively, foul language, indecent dressing, adultery(if any one looks upon a woman and lust, he have committed adultery in his heart)

Is there still nothing wrong with “”sewoing””?? or reviling?

        • Real reason
          March 8, 2011

Yah, I hope the protestant Christians that like to act like because they don’t ‘sewo’ that they don’t fornicate, drink excessively, use foul language, dress indecently, commit adultery and VOLEH, are not the people me the ‘sewoer’ will see in purgatory or hell. I hope the straight pass allu think allu have to heaven there just because you claim to be ‘born again’ really exists. Cuz it’s despicable comments like these that let me know that those among us that call ourselves ‘saved’ are the most in need of saving.

        • Praying for Linden
          March 8, 2011

All these things you mentioned are not “caused” by sewo or brought about by sewo. I have always been a defender of persons “free will”. I have participated in carnival or “sewo” many times as a young woman and have always had a good time, maintained my self-respect and shown concern for those around me who may or may not get carried away. If you direct your comments at the soul and conscience you may be more effective. Because “sewo” is far from just carnival and cannot be blamed for people’s personal choices.

The choice to do wrong may occur in any moment – I am not in denial that some activities are more prone to encourage wrong doing but that does not make them negative in themselves. People are responsible for their actions and it is unfair to claim that “sewo” is bad and should not happen when even with that taken away, those who choose to do wrong will do wrong elsewhere.

For years I have been defending the right to choose to party or “sewo”, whether at carnival or at a birthday party, wedding, club, or for no reason at all. The wrong is not in the event it is in our own choices. So have a safe and peaceful carnival season!

        Jayne

You are a person with spiritual wisdom and, Love, which is of God, in your heart as well. We are all human beings. God is not out of our lives at all. But there is a time when He allows us to live the way of the world and there is a time when He calls us to live His Ways. Because of His Love, we will know it is His Ways and we will surrender to those Ways as quick as we know them.

Only wicked and evil people, who are God’s enemy, will turn against God’s call. Just because a man is playing a guitar and people are dancing to the music, that does not make no one wicked or evil. God will call them at His time.

That is the reason, we should be careful, not to be so quick to pass judgment on our fellow man’s circumstances. If because something bad happens to a person, I jump in and say God don’t like ugly, I am saying that my ways are pretty, before Him, and that is a big mistake on my side–I am a human being just like that person, and I can make mistakes.

We should never judge people, especially when a bad thing has befall them. Our own befall could turn out to be worse than that.

Also, the man who knows suffering in Life is a luckier man, that the man, whose Life is served to him on a silver platter. Believe it, or not!

John 17:14-15 (New International Version, ©2011)

14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

I’m not perfect, but I think you need to go and spend more time reading God’s word before forming your own bible. Blessings

Anonymous you only read half of Jayne’s comment..that’s the problem with some of us…we don’t read and try to comprehend. yea what Jayne said was not appropriate but she did what you would probably never have done…she inturned said he ain’t to kin about pretty which means she’s no better if she rejoyces so instead she’s praying for him..and I think that was big of her. We should never judge anyone but we should also not condone the bad the some people do.

Prayers do fall back on people when they do not ask for forgiveness. God is the only one who gives and
takes life. One can not want to take a person’s life and walk the streets like it’s o.k or he/she has gotten
aways with it. Trust me what goes around comes around. True say!!!!!

God does not do evil but he allows it.
