Accident on the road to Castle Bruce

Accident near Castle Bruce
The Nissan pick-up truck ran off the road into a ravine

One man was injured and was taken to hospital as a result of a vehicular accident which occurred at about 5:30 pm on Thursday.

The accident took place on the road to Castle Bruce just after L’iviere L’or.

Someone who was at the scene of the accident told DNO that the driver and two other passengers walked away from the crash site with no injury.

According to the information received, the driver told paramedics and firefighters at the scene, that he was not driving fast but felt the pick-up truck pulling away from the road.

He said he tried to avoid slamming into an electric pole but ended up in a very deep ravine.

The men were on their way to the Kalinago Territory to buy arts and crafts when the accident occurred.

He is fortunate that no one was fatally injured. Police investigation, the driver said he was not speeding. This could easily be checked to determine if he was speeding or not. This is, if you have that type of system to do so. His brakes should be checked. Was his vehicle road-worthy?

The driver was not driving fast? That would be a first in Dominica. How the heck did he lose control of his vehicle if he was not driving too fast for the condition?

My friend if you were driving as slowly as you would like us to believe, you would have recovered from the “pulling” you spooke of.

there were three men in the vehicle who according to a witness walked away, however one man went to hospital? Based on the story I have no idea if this man was one of the tree or a bystnder or what..

Thank God they are alive, and did not hit the electric pole. Gas and electricity would be a deadly combination. Hope he had good tires, good brakes. Thank the Lord for small mercies, he knows best. Dominica, we love u and we must drive carefully on the roads.

If he was not speeding as he stated, the accident could have been caused by faulty brakes. Or are there any evil spirits in that area?
