Police have confirmed that some persons were injured as a result of a vehicular accident which occurred on the Pagua public road on Sunday.
Information received by Dominica News Online(DNO), indicates that the accident occurred on the section of the road where construction work on a sea defense wall is on-going.
According to Ag. Police PRO, Inspector Richmond Valentine, the collision involved two vehicles registration# TA 730, owned by Kenny Liquent of Castle Bruce and driven by Jonathan Berkit and registration# TA 246, driven by Goddard Williams of Loubiere.
He said the driver of TA 730, Jonathan Berkit, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital while two passengers on that same vehicle were treated and discharged.
Valentine said the driver of TA 246, Goddard Williams as well as other passengers aboard the vehicle he was driving, were also injured.

I have known this same Goddard Williams in Marigot for many, many, many years and based on my knowledge of him, I am convinced he is from Marigot. Don’t know why DNO or police department have him from Loubiere. Guess they themselves are drunk as well.

I saw those vehicles shortly after the accident. It seems alcohol was a factor on both sides, in a country where there is zero enforcement against drinking and driving.

I myself i am sick and tired of hearing of accident after accident. What is it, you people cannot learn? I really hope i hear this time that this was a freak accident, and not some silly other reason like speeding, falling asleep or simply hogging the road.
