Augustus Luke of Woodford Hill who went missing about three weeks ago, has been found dead in the heights of Calibishie.
The police said that Luke’s body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition, was found around noon on Wednesday.
The body was identified by his wife.
The body was taken to the Marigot Hospital and then transported to the Princess Margaret mortuary.
A coroner’s inquest will be convened to be followed by a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Foul play is not suspected, the police said.
At the time of his disappearance, police reported that the 64-year-old Luke had left his home on Sunday August 12 at around 10:30 am for a bath at Woodford Hill Beach and had not returned.
Luke’s sister in law, Shirley Luke described him as an independent man who sometimes goes out for long periods of time. “I know he sometimes go out for a period of time but never that long,” she said. “Whenever he goes out, he always come back in time to let everyone know he is well.”
Unfortunately and to the chagrin of his grieving family, Luke did not make it back alive this time.
