Motorist and pedestrians traveling on the E.O. Leblanc Highway near Gel Lyon in the Coulibistrie area are asked to be extremely careful because a landslide has blocked the road.

Disaster coordinator, Don Corriette, said the road is unpassable and traffic has been at a standstill from 5:30 on Monday morning.

He said the Public Works Department is being mobilized to deal with the slide.

He stated that pedestrians, in particular, should desist from crossing the slide since stones are still rolling down the cliff.

“Unless we have it stabilized, we advising persons not to attempt to cross that particular area,” he said.

He noted that there have been no reports of rainfall or tremors in the area, adding that it has been unstable for some time.

Rocks have been falling in this particular area since the road was originally constructed in the 50s. To date, not one government has seen it fit to shelve this cliff, thus enhancing road safety for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic. This should be a wake up call to our Ministry of Communication and Works. Then again, maybe not. It will be cleared and the same danger will continue for the next half century.

As long as the cabal Skeritt is in office, these are the types of punishments that will continue to come down on us from God. This landslide is no coincidence. It is a sign from God that we went wrong at the polls on Election Day. While Dominicans failing to make a move to eject the rotten egg named Skeritt from his undeserved P.M seat, the head of the cabal cartel is sitting at a table along with his overpaid cabinet enjoying a fine cooked meal and popping Champagne ……..But the scandal doesn’t stop there. Behind closed doors, Zacchaeus is sitting pretty in his sycamore tree already planning for next year how he’s going to hit the economy for six runs Brian Lara style by imposing greater taxes on the people while not doing anything to get money circulating through the country. God will continue to punish us until we eject the cabal

There was a landslide in China also…91 persons still missing…tell me…was Skeritt the cause of that one also?

      • Floridian diaspora
        December 21, 2015

No. In China’s case, it was a punishment from God for their air pollution which is intoxicating the whole world

Reply to Floridian Diaspora: LOLOL do you even know what you are saying? Serioulsy?

It is tru that China has a smog problem but a landslide is not a punishment for that. Also, lets consider the seriousness of the landslide. Even though 91 people died, China has 1.3 Billion people. This was not a serious event.

All those roads are not been taking care of,neither rivers !
    It is time to change!

    December 21, 2015

Since the citizens can no longer block the roads because an oppressive government will pepper them with teargas and bullets, JAH is taking over and blocking the road. It is time for Skerrit to go, enough is enough, God is speaking to us as a nation, we are not listening, we will suffer his wrath.
Dominicans are sent to suck salt.
