UPDATE: Man escapes injury in Fond Cole accident

fond cole accident

A man escaped serious injuries following what appears to be a freak accident in Fond Cole on Friday morning.

According to police PRO, Inspector John Carbon, the man was riding a motor scooter when it began malfunctioning and skidded off the road.

The man eventually found himself underneath a parked bus with no serious injuries.

“The bus was not being driven at the time,” Carbon said. “The person found himself under the bus.”

The man was taken to hospital but was released soon after, he said.

Well I am absolutely delighted to read that this gentleman was able to be released from the hospital the very same day. Thank God for that.

Lets move on people and stop having a go at me for voicing my concerns,ha ha.
I do hope we can all agree to disagree. That is what its all about, right?
    Peace

Praise the Lord the young man is fine, thank god for his safety. However, we are all educated in our own way, but I have to admit some of us just don’t or can’t read properly to make sense of what was read. Brothers and sisters please read the reports carefully then make your comments and make sense of what you are commenting on, cause some of us sounds so uneducated. :-x

It was malfunctioning? Was he driving fast? Thank God he only has injuries. How fortunate he was that it was not worst and the bus was not moving. I hope he recovers from his injuries. It must have been a trauma for him and where he landed which was something beyond his control.

      Ha Ha.

It seems like you have been keeping tabs on me Joy. Well I am glad you got our info right and yes I use to be a police officer in Anguilla and served in the British Army in Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Kosovo. The reason why I mentioned the service is because as you said I have seen some things.

When there is an unfortunate situation like this, one must always respect and preserve the dignity of the victim.
We must always empathise and understand what effects such pictures have on the victims and especially on the family members who may have learnt of this accident via DNO.

As a former police Officer and Soldier we would cordon the area and move people as far away as possible from the site of the accident. I am guessing that this picture was taken by an amateur who probably sent it to DNO.

As for some people who say that this is done in other countries. I say to them that it does not make it right because they do it in Iraq because they certainly don’t show it in the Uk

I agree with you Greg. When they had pictures of the accident with the young fireman and the other young man who were travelling to wherever to represent Dominica, people said so many things, until DNO had to remove the pictures…now they block the man’s face they complaining, Dominicans are just hard to please.

just maybe if you were saved and knew Jesus Christ you would understand that sometimes he lets things happen to us because we are too busy doing our own thing some of us are only there because it have people out there praying and fasting for God our lord Jesus Christ to save our country…………..

He will not for He is God. The reason, to bring out a greater good. Note how many people thanked him. This means they recognize him, have him in mind and know that He is above, taking note and is in control.
When people leave home they should pray to God for protection and safety. How many do that?
As Our Lord said, “In all things give God (due) thanks and praise.”
Always think, it could have been worst. It is difficult for people as you with your type of mind to comprehend.

DNO Admin, you can’t be serious. In my opinion, you show no regard for the individual involved nor for his family by having such a picture(showing where he is pinned under the bus)in the news item. Have a heart. Be more professional in your reporting.

an effort is made to blurr the person to the point where he is unrecognizable…i just watched a news article on cnn that shows a lady giving her baby nephew CPR on a Miami highway after he turned blue from not breathing…and they were completely recognizable….news in my opinion should show facts…where i agree some respect is needed and was somewhat shown…it shows the reality of the situation.

Why is it that we Dominicans find negative things to say

The beautiful thing about the internet age is that it gives everyone of us a voice and an audience. However some of us who do use this very internet media also don’t use it to educate ourselves as to how media houses should behave irrespective of the culture, norm or their resources.

So when you Mr Weekes talk, please speak from an informed and educated stand point when it pertains to the rules of reporting.

I take it that you know what you talking about and are educated in the field of Journalism. Maybe i don’t know so tell us, and then we will pick apart wether you make sense or not.

I heard this news on QFM about 2 hours ago and now this picture of a young man stuck under a bus.
Surely DNO has not thought this through. This sort of reporting shows no consideration and sympathy for the family of this unfortunate man.

This distressing picture has been published by DNOOOO without any consideration as to whether or not family of this victim has been informed.

In my opinion, this is definitely not responsible journalism and I really thing someone at DNO has been over exuberant.

Notice that before any of these news media show graphic pictures, caution is mentioned to their viewers….” we must warn you that the pictures you are about to see are graphic in nature”. and then they proceed to show the pictures
DNO has done the same thing by blotting out the face of the person. Great Job DNO!!!

Asking God to help someone who is in trouble, someone who is sick, someone is about to commit murder/suicide, someone in an accident and logged on to Fb and saw this post. I know that if there is a God out there you are listening. I know that most of us only call on you when we are in trouble but I don’t know who this person is, but I’m asking you dear Lord to save him. You said in your word that if we call upon you, you will answer us, and now I’m praying for this man that you will set him free from and he will be fine. Miracles happen daily and we know that it is because of you they happen. Thank you for doing it in your name we pray. Amen.
