Police are investigating the suspected suicide of a young woman in Canal, Massacre.
Aldora David, 20, a student of the Dominica State College, was found hanging from the rafters of the roof of her home Sunday afternoon at about 4 p.m.
She was hanging by a white electrical cord.

Folks let this be a lesson to us, stress does not have a face. I have had my brush with death, in a situation such as this. No one knew what I was going through, my whole life was a farce. I smiled when everyone wanted me to, I attired myself like I normally would. No one would have thought at that time that I was suicidal. I thank God everyday for my upbringing and my ability to counsel myself. For those of you who have never been clinically depressed, it’s easy to cast judgement, but , I’ll have you know, it’s not an easy road. It’s like you’re trapped in a glass bottle, screaming for help, trying to get someone’s attention but no one hears, not even those that you’d expect to realise that something is wrong. “Why don’t the person just tell somebody?” It’s not that easy. I remembered trying to talk with someone (not professionally), the person’s response was, ” Girl don’t worry yourself with that.” It’s not that easy.
I remember a very close friend and classmate of mine who hung himself on a mango tree in his village a few years ago.(K.D). He was a very promising boy, very fun to be around and smart as hell. I was so ANGRY with him when he killed himself, i was also angry at myself for not noticing the signs. Now I know what’s it’s like. Praise God I got away.
Hey, if you are in a similar situation right now, here’s a few things that you should do:
1. Try to be in the company of others as much as u can.
2. Try to avoid any lengthy meditation.
3. Get a pen and a notebook and list future plans. ( long term)
4. Find at least one person who you can talk to, it doesn’t have to be about your current situation, eventually you’ll create a platform, where you can freely open-up to this person. Even though this person is miles away. Better still.
5. Excercise.
6. If it’s a person that’s causing u stress, try staying away, keep you distance. You’ll need that breathing space to start picking up the pieces and rearranging your plans.

Now this is a friend. Let us be mindful that problems will always be there but it’s the way it is handled. We should learn not to internalize our problems but rather aside from talking to God, confide in someone who will be there to encourage us and guide us along the way. The younger generation tend to try to solve their problems themselves, but we the older ones should have them understand what life entails and how we should handle it.

According to the girls dad when she did what she did on Saturday t he parents should have monitored her movements, again at table when she stopped eating and bent her head they should seen that something is definitely wrong and do something to help her. When u have problems at home and problems outside you usaully think that everbody is against you and have no one to turn to Yes we know God exists but at the time we only think of a solution and the brain what ever it tells u at the time u just fall for it. This is a lesson for us parents to pay more attention to our kids and try to assist them in their cry. If we cannot investigate them let us try to get someone who can help and save our kids. I can imagine what this young lady went through.

It’s sad to see what become of this beautiful young lady with a smile that could bring joy to many. It’s sad that she had to perish in that way and it’s sad that it could not of been stopped. No one is to blame is this situation and fingers should not pointed at anyone because the young lady chose her on fate sad to say. Not one of u knew what she was going through and not one us knows how she felt so we should not judge but just learn a lesson from this. The lesson is that no matter how much one may smile and laugh there is something hidden in everyone and whenever someone cries out for help we should never turn our backs on them no matter in what shape of form the person shows there need. If she tried to do it once before i see that as a loud and clear cry for need but i guess it wasn’t loud enough for others to hear. I just pray that the next person who considers suicide will be rescued by the listening ears of a friend of by the grace of God. R.I.P Aldora David.

Awa we, I am still sadden. But today actually this afternoon when they were interviewing the father of aldora, on DBS tears rushed through my eyes simply because, the father said; aldora said she going to kill herself she tried it once with GSS tie the tie burst! They only talk to her that same day. Stupes! Why they didn’t bring her for counseling ? The next day they were eating then she stopped eating she put her head against the table. She said, the boy daddy the boy. She went upstairs came back down acted normal, then a lil later all of them went to sleep which off course I find was very WEIRED! Everybody fall asleep one time wen aldora went upstairs lock the door, went on the machine tied the roap n hung herself. Father said he woke up, and went to look for her the doors were lucked hmmmm interesting. I dnt think is boy stress alone that kill her the father said that. He pushed a door the didn’t lock properly and saw het hanging he held her foot and untied the marpin cord in her neck and he started screaming! Everybody came ppl called ppl, a lot of ppl came. Hmmmm interesting story. My comments, the parents lapse they should have monitor every move she make and bring the young lady for counseling. REHAB the parents knw exactly wat caused aldora to kill herself the parents were stressing her out too! Dnt blame it on the bf parents have a part to play too. For someone claiming to have been “Born Bless” you certainly speak with a lot of hatred and falsehoods. I heard the very same interview. What is so suspect of a sick man lying down on a sunday afternoon, and the other kids in their room napping as usual? what is wrong with that? Your story telling has many strange loops as opposed to what the man said, if you can’t understand seek clarification before judgement.
The only failure I see on her family is their not calling APU and the police at her first attempt. They should have been wise enough to realise she would try it again, however she was going to do it no matter what from all appearances. I have read most of the comments, and this made me realise that dominicans are really are god fearing people.
However i have an observation, I am beginning to wonder why at 20 years of age someone who is intelligent and at college would be carrying the world of problems
Secondly, at 20 most people would agree at this age its a time to experiment with life, travel learning a new hobby,, doing extra curricular activities ,signing up for volontery work etc etc
at 20 years of age in my opinion i tink its a tender age to fall so deep in love with someone, if this is the case.

What people don’t realize is that it becomes so hard to read when one writes this way. I hope this kind of writing and speaking is not accepted at schools in Dominica. Some people do write proper English and that makes it easy to read, but the majority is rubbish writing. And people don’t get me wrong, it’s not what you write, it’s how you write.

Domican Abroad
This writing style seem to be a disease of today’s generation, not only on DNO.
For the last 10 years I have been suffering from a severe hearing disability. The problem was recently corrected, so now I am going through rehab. However, when I started to a attend with a small church family, during my problem, the first thing the Pastor did was to write down everything that was being said in church for me, as she noticed the significance of me being with her church.
She was great in writing for me; but she could not always do it as the Pastor; so she used to ask other people to help me. Well some of those people started to write for me in what I am now calling “modern day shorthand”
For example they would b/c– one the persons who wrote it like that was a teacher also– for me and they told me that it meant “because”. There were many other examles. Luckily for me all I needed was the first start of the sentence, and I would know what they meant to write before they wrote it down. A lady once told me that I read before she writes; but I had no choice.
What surprised me once was that I took my laptop down to Bible Study, hoping that I would get somone to type what was being said to me. Unfortunately none of the adults in my Bible Study class, except my Pastor who was teaching, could help me. So we had a youth there, and I assumed that being in school, he should at least know how to use the keyboard of my laptop, so I asked him to help me.
To my surprise that youth was reluctant to help me because he said he could not spell. Anyway he agreed to help when I told him that spelling would not matter for me, I would understand. Not only that this youth was using the laptop keyboard extremely slow, but when my he typed out a question from my Pastor for me, I saw on the screen “r u a sinner”? I do not remember if he had spelt “sinner” right either. So I read it like “are you a sinner”, which was the question.
That was the first time I had seen writing like that, as I was not yet using the Internet. And from the time I have been on DNO I have been seeing expressions written that way. I see the same writing on other blogs as well. It is like the norm of the day.
But as a Anonymous suggested, the only thing we can do now is to put our intelligence to work. If DNO decides not to post comments that are badly written, they would not post any comment, as I myself makes a lot of typing mistakes.

Everybody has a right to free speech whether they can spell or not. So why don’t you take your stuck up abroad self and stay in your corner abroad? Death is such a touchy issue because you don’t want to offend anyone, especially while they are grieving. The saddest thing about death to me is not knowing where the person is going. A lot of people are bringing up the suicide is a sin issue and others want to know where it states it in the Bible because saying that she is going to hell takes away all hope of her resting in piece. As sad as it is, we must be honest with ourselves and acknowledge that suicide is murder (self murder) and murder is a sin. If you kill someone, you have a chance to ask for forgiveness. If you kill yourself, unfortunately, you have given up that change and therefore cannot receive forgiveness for the sin you have committed. I pray for all her family and friends that they can seek God in this trying time. I would be heart broken and in so much emotional pain to know that someone I love would not make it to Heaven. I don’t know how anyone can live with that realization and I understand why it would be so hard to accept. People who know her talk about her smile and her jovial spirit and it’s sad that she didn’t get a chance to live to her fullest potential.

Our lord is an understanding, loving and forgiving lord and i know he will forgive her for what she did. i wish that your soul will rest in peace. How many of you are without sin? When things of this nature happen we need to think of where we went wrong? We need to think of how we can save others faced with similar dilemas. We need to stop the politicing on the Talk Shows and have discusions about depression and issues which affect the young and the not so young.
The term “suicide is an unforgiveable sin” is ridiculous when the Bible says nothing is too great for God to forgive. There is hope in Jesus.

Almost 90 % of our young people are under serious stress… Some of those STRESSFUL situations are brought onto them by the illegalities, the immoralities, the greed, the selfishness, the dishonesty, the family breakdown in our Dominican Society. Some of those young persons also bring on stress onto themselves by getting involved in TOO MUCH JOOBOOM.
The latter version has to do with lack of love for parents, disobedience and wanting to experiment and do their own thing until the worse happens. Many of those youth do not take time to listen to their parents or older and wiser people in our society who offer them good, sound advice about life. The Dominican environment presently is not conducive to proper upbringing where those in authority and more age able are involved in all sorts of crimes, irresponsible behaviors and illegal acts and nothing is done about those wrong things. In fact, WRONGDOINGS are condoned these days and foolish excuses are always given.
Young people are hearing about those evil deeds by grown ups. Most young persons just cannot handle or deal with the numerous situations of life especially ‘BOYFRIEND or ‘MAN/WOMAN relationships. In many instances not even 30, 40, 50 60 year olds could deal with certain situations, much less for the 18, 19, 20 year old. Pressure, PRESSURE, and MORE PRESSURE build up UNTIL…….. BOOM, like a volcano ERUPTING.
The community no longer raises and takes care of the child or youth. Everybody is to himself or herself and the SELFISHNESS causes further drift from each other. Useful and effective communication is virtually NO MORE. The SOCIETY is CRUMBLING right under our noses my people. The youth are getting more and more frustrated and aggressive, more violence and vexation, problems are solved by fights, stabbings, shootings, not dialogue. A Society that doesn’t look out for its young and disrespects its elders will face such chaotic situations.
Sad to say out there are many, many, young persons as well as elderly persons are stressed out by the evils and economic situations in our society. There are those who will continue to bring stress onto themselves and act in ways that will bring grief and sadness. What a Dominica?
There is beauty and tranquility in our bio- diversity, the colourful flowers, our verdant green forest, our magnificent mountains, our wonderful rivers, our overall natural, physical beauty. Young and old, please find PEACE in those natural beauties that we are blessed with. Those things are not vile. It is the human beings who live among those beautiful attributes of our country who exhibit evil deeds, greed, selfishness.

Aldora…. so so sad. Can’t say much…only memories of you were from infanct…i’ve been gone to long to say that i knew you. I just remember the days when i’d bathe in the river next you your house, chatting to your mom, you being so small and “handsome” as my granny insist of saying when she talks about you.
Having said that…i’ll keep those memories. I do not want to think of you the way you went. I want to remember and hope that somehow, before you made that decision, you remembered your happy times.
I see so many comments, and i go through the emotions! I’m sad, heart broken, distressed that you’d resort to this..but at the same time, no one but you knew the strength of you pain and sorrows. I cannot judge for i was not in your mind, i did not know you emotions.
But what I do know, is that it had to have been some terrible pain to let you do that to yourself. Your mental anguish must have been unbearable.

The dead can tell no tale. It is sad that this young lady took her like and we are all asking “why, why, why.” We can say she should have spoken to someone, or she could have told someone what she was going through, and maybe, just maybe she could have got help.
I wish to urge us all to look for the tell-tale signs of suicide such as :- Depression or being in a sad mood, withdrawal from friends and family, always in a trance or talking to self more often than usual, making statements like “I am worthless,” “I will kill myself.”
Some of us are stronger than others and can deal with problems better than most, and therefore, we ought to be each others keeper.

I just want to share a personal story. I am in love with this girl for over 6 years now. about 3 years or so into our relationship things was getting different and I wanted out, I told her about it and she couldnt stand me and her not being together. She told me if she cant be with me, she has no reason to live and be with anyone else. She was contemplating of slitting her risk. I didnt break up with because I didnt want anything bad to happen to her. She loved me unconditionally. After working things out smoothly, I spoke to her about our relationship and relationship in general that we got to have a solid state of mind. we gotta have out dream for us and no one else. It is not being selfish, it is being you. living a life for you and no one else. I talked her into understanding and accepting the fact that today or tomorrow we may break-up bur life must go on. But that was about 4 years ago. Today we are very happy being in love for over 6 years. Just to add, about 2 years ago she wanted out. I felt good because she now had the ‘balls’ of a woman. I was really impressed. but again we worked things out. No relationship is perfect. its all about making things work and understanding that there is a life beyond any relationship to live for. It is this that fuels me and her happily together.
So please young men. we need to be more humane men.

Ok….. a young lady killed herself.this is sad.I’ve read the comments and pple have different views. I just think that this has nothing to do with Christianity or Dominicans..some pple think that others are writing foolish comments.I think everybody writes whatever they choose to and nothing is foolish. This is just sad!! Always sad when a young person or anyone as a matter take their own life. People there is always one person in this world we can talk to about our problem before you make rash decisions. We as humans have to be vigilant about the people around us. We have to be observant, look for any changes in behaviour, anything out of the ordinary. Don’t just say the person is going through a phase!! Talk to them see if you can get through to them, you may just be surprised what one conversation can do.
God send and angel to protect the youth of today…let them know that they are not alone in this world!!

suicide is a thought most of us young people are burden with.. if i was not a believer and did not know that if i take my own life i would be totally doomed who knows i would have taken my life already and then like the young lady every one would say i am loving and always smiling , but there are alot of young people who bottle alot of pain be it simple rejection be it finicially be it family issue certain thing we look at as being ok might just be what hurts another soul. it is so sad too see that the young lady took the guts to do it but what can i say i did not know her state of mind. its us humans who need to take up the responsibility of watching each other back its us to watch what we say to people to avoid hurting them its us to learn to talk out our problem if u feel like killing your self tell someone you feel like dying they will talk to you dont just bottle the thought its gonna make you explode and actually do it.

Only God knows the state of mind, the desperation or dispair that has coused this person to lose faith in their fellow men and hope for this life, the state of mind that you are in at the moment may tell you that you will be more at peace if you exit this world thats full of troubles. We do not know what this young lady’s belief system was but as every sould that got so didillusioned in this life to give up, only God can judge and resting in peace is in his hands. I empathize with the family and close friends of Aldora. I remember her very well, very friendly young lady. Something told me to simply check DNO and there, suicide in Massacre! This is a very sad situation. This family now is gripped with grief and sadness but in time and patience I pray that they heal. Again I really do empathize with her family, friends and her village.
Secondly, this is not a new situation in Dominica. There are many teenagers are going through or have gone through depression or some other emotional issue. People we need to be more alert to the signs, persons who commit suicide mostly leave one clue or another!
Thirdly, youth are stigmatized by the idea of speaking to a mental health professional. It is we the people of Dominica who have created this environment. Gossip and rumours from a people damages the self esteem of others as well as alters the thoughts of others who may not have been exposed to various perspectives. We need to produce a conduscive environment for our youths to express their concerns.
Fourthly, we see a pattern amongst parenting skills in this country. There is too much focus on materialistic aspirations at the expense of spiritual aspirations. God has become too divorced from the lives of our people. God has become a tradition one expresses in a place of worship and that is not right! God needs to be the focus in every aspect of our lives.
Dominicans need to turn to God and give up polytheism. Polytheism is the root cause of the problem. Polytheism affects our very lives because one’s life revolves around pleasing those gods that is why it is the worst oppression the human being can do against his soul.
A message to the Jesus thumping ‘clerics.’ You and I both know that you don’t believe in Jesus the messiah son of Mary, may the peace of God be onto him. Jesus Christ came to the lost sheep of Israel, he commanded them to worship God alone. He was the perfect example of actually worshipping God and obeying the commandments. However, we see that the people are far away from the Messiah who came 2,000 years ago from Palestine, they worship an Italian god painted by Michael Angelo in the 17th century; this Jesus (p) is white with blue eyes and straight hair. They worship this god of the Romans. This culture was passed down to our forefathers through slavery. My message to you is our people need to revisit those practices. Also, I am not suggesting that we remove the messiah (p) from the equation; in fact I am urging to follow his practices and not mere lip service or as he said ‘in vain do they worship me.’ We love the messiah (p) and there is a chapter in the Holy Quran dedicated to his mother which narrates the story of Jesus (peace be onto them)
Or, our people may look into this alternative. God is the only Lord and Manager of the Universe. No one shares in His domain as He has power to do all things. Secondly, His attributes are perfect. Some of these are All Knowing, All Forgiving, All Loving etc. Thirdly, just as Jesus and the other prophets of God (p) worshipped God directly without mediators, so too we must follow these prophets; that is true monotheism. Fourthly, we must accept that God’s rule in the land is superior and important. When a person rules or believes in secular laws, these are the laws of Caesar. This is the problem in our country, there is too much polytheism! We must not have an image of God in our minds. God is not an old man with a white beard sitting on a throne looking down at the universe. God is not bound by space, time, motion, place etc. God is not everywhere otherwise we are insinuating that God is in the strip club (May God protect us from blasphemy).
In summary I empathize with the family of Aldora. Second, we need to be more alert to the signs of suicide. Thirdly, youth are stigmatized at the idea of speaking to a health professional due to negative elements in our society. Fourthly, materialism has taken over the minds of our youth rather than being governed by spirituality. Fifth, polytheism needs to be eradicated and lastly, turning to only one God with none else besides Him. Thank you very much for reading.

People, others among us, and especially our younger ones, are lonely, doubful, confused, suffering from both emotional and physical pain. Most people like that will not talk to anyone because they lack trust to confide in those of who appear to be stronger than themselves. Satan quickly lie to them, telling them there is no point of living, and without Hope, they accept his lies.
We, ourselves are not paying attention, we are not noticing, and we are not trying to listen to those who are weaker and more vulnerable. Satan plays havoc in our minds as he strives to keep us separated from the wisdom and understanding of God’s Holy Spirit, who wants to teach us how to choose Life over death.
Let us start to let our loved ones know that we care, and will be there for them. Let us start to seek God’s strength for ourselves, that we can use that strength to strengthen a weaker person in our lives. This attitude and conduct must begin at home, as it extends in our community or surroundings. Notice one of two situations here: Aldorah either did not think of talking to her family members and close friends, or they did not care to listen and pay serious attention to her plead. With the assurance of Love in her Life, she would not have commited suicide, if that is what she did.
People, let us strive to allow God to love others through us! It is useless to pray to God, if we are just going to continue to sit down and wait for Him to do things for us. God does not work that way. We have to allow Him to do His work through us and in us by our faith.
With all the pain we are going through, JESUS is the way. He says
“Come on unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

My condolesence to the Famly of Aldora. I can’t even find words to say anything but to ask you even in this moment to reach out to our Father who will indeed strenghen you. I know that you are a lot going through some tremendous pain.
Nice to see a 13 year old come with her comments and at the root she is speaking about The heavenly Father. I would like to recommend to you to read the Alive Word Columns. You can find many of them in the DNO under the Column menu. The young lady was quiet yes and a very pleasant young lady but we do not know what was going in her mind. There is a thin line between sane and insanity and a litlle challenge can trigger something like what happenned to her.
Being 13 and being cognisant of what is happenning around is very good but you must at this tender age strive to become closer to your Maker – who you need to have a personal relationship with. You must be aware also of the enemy who has come to steal, kill, devour and destroy. Some persons out there are there only to help him accomplish what he has to do. In order to be safe and sound you have to put you trust in him. The world is an evil place so much so that some persons do carry burdens and do not trust anyone to talk about their problems. The enemy loves that when you do not trust anyone so he puts doubts in your mind and then you may feel that there is no way out just as Aldora may have felt that this is the only way out. You at 13 need to study the bible and to know the plans and words to comfort us. You are not too young to accept the Lord as you personal saviour. You will definitely face challenges but you must seek to be closer to those who are closer to the Father and so when you are confused etc, you can turn to someone who will guide you. NB not just anyone but some one who loves the Lord and have got the fear of the Lord. Some person out there do the opposite and may even trigger more harm than good.
So at 13 years use this as a time to learn from this trajedy. Lean on the Lord as you are already aware of the hurtful things said in our society (very cognisant) . You have a choice now to make – Also you should not always keep everything inside. At least you can find someone you can confide in and mark you again not just anyone but one who would advise you using the word as a guide. You will always face challenges especially you are a teenager now. You will be confused sometimes and probaly think that no one loves you. But let me live you with one word of advice – sometimes we as teenagers feel that our parents don’t love us and we look for love in all the wrong places, when in fact our parents wants the best for us. Again the Bible has all the answers for our daily living. Read and asks the Lord to give you wisdom and understanding and seek him and he draw nigh to you. At 13 do not underestimate you capability as we are in no position to tell our Father who is it that he must use. In the early times, he used a donkey to talk to a stubborn person.
I just had to talk to you at 13 years since I was very happy so see such a young person comment and had to encourage you but in the most positive way that I could and to advise you to lean on the arms of the Father who is the one who will give you true wisdom and understanding.

We may never understand what realy happened, we were not in her position. Her pain is over and she did not handle it properly. We are alive and Aldora is an exsample to what and whom do we turn to when trouble comes our way. Prayer is the key to our salvation, when do we pray and what to we ask for, what do we thank him for and in who’s time dose the prayer being answered? To the prayer worries, (1) is it possible to have phone ring prayer in the morning and allthrough the day? the phone calls are free pick a friend and pray with them via the phone. (2) can we have every month end a vigel prayer chain from the start of the village to the end of the village with the lighting of the candle and praying to help put the devil that attacking our family, our village development, our youth lots of young ones. we need healing and it should not be down only at the church building.

So many of our young adults are all over the streets and its only when something like this or stabbing, or rapping and stilling that the voices come out. why? many may ask, but unawear that the cry for more prayer is calling and nothing is happening. Are we waiting for a disaster and may not be able to handle? look around so many examples to learn from but when do we start the village prayer. Aldora is asking us to help the youths engage in pray,s, lets start before it gets out of hand.

First of all my condolences to the family of the late young lady….So sad. Now to touch on two issues: I find some people seem to think they are The Almighty Heavenly Father God Himself…U all seem to read the Bible so much yet u seem to skip the parts which indicate that we should not do God’s work for him (i.e. Judging Others)…I read a few comments and was sickened by the insensitive idiots who kept emphasising that the young lady CANNOT rest in peace cus she committed a sin…In case u forgot we are all sinners;so how dare you point ur fingers at others??? Its a sad time for the young lady’s family, friends and the nation by extension…Focus on that and not where the lady is goin; that’s for God to decide…Its all up to her and the Almighty…Let’s do the christian and humane thing and sympathise with all those who lost a loved one…Another thing, all the people who constantly stay abroad and make comments about they praying for Dominicans back home that shouldn’t be the point to make…You should b praying for everyone including yourself cus not only Dominica need prayers but the entire world does, including the crime infested, ‘developed’ countries you are currently residing in…Let’s not make it a Dominican, Political, Church, Place of Residence issue. Hey, there is no one person to blame except the individual. We all have a person responsibility when it comes to us. (Who do you love the most in the world). This suicide should not be seen as a political thing, or something to make uprising over. Suicides are always sad and people kill themselves everyday.
The most important thing you can do for someone who is considering suicide is be there for them and advise them properly. BE GOOD FRIENDS. BE LISTENING PARENTS. BE CARING NEIGHBORS. Apart from that only God can help individuals in distressing situations.

When I saw the headline of this article I thought: “Oh my God!” This is so sad! I was not expecting to read this about someone who resides in Dominica. She must have had some problems and experienced inner turmoil which she may not have shared with anyone.

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know her so well but over the last semester at school I would consider the short relationship we had as friendship. I never expected that from her, I only say the smile during speech communication and the hit of confusion and frustration during business law. I don’t know why she did it, I’m not her close family, so I say to you people, stop!!!!! To the family of this young lady my deepest sympathy. Though I do not know you personally it is even more touching given you carrythe same last name with me. My hope for Dominica youths is that they seek to take a mentor who will impact positively on their lives. What’s trending in Dominica today is the politics of division while our children are being neglected. To the remaining adults because we have only a few embrace the youth be it yours or not because their survival is in our best interest.

I was having a video call with my family when my brother came home and told them Aldorah just hanged herself. I still cannot believe Aldorah would do that. i know exactly how she felt…but she should have known that if she didnt feel comfortable talking to her friends ( dominicans tlk alot) she should have sought out professional help… there are docs and sedatives she could have taken to ease the pain of bf leaving her….. so sad… but we domincans should not judge cus not everybody can handle stress no matter how simple the matter may seem at the time, and most times is us dominicans that make the pain worst by spreading rumors and pointing fingers…. my heart goes out to her family who now have to live with the stigma of one of their own taking her own life….

I believe a child should have a right to come and talk to a representative there with even the parent not knowing and maybe that way we can guide children going out of the way..Believe it or not children nowadays may not listen to their parents but they would listen to advice from a total stranger….think about it.

Yes, it is important for counselling to take place for the youth. What has to be understood though, if there is any kind of concern regarding the young person within the counselling process, it is vital that confidentiality for the youth is supported throughout the process.
