The National Executive and staff of the National Youth Council of Dominica will be hosting a candle light prayer vigil for the missing teenager, 14-years old Shanice Jemmott of 14 Clark Hall, Layou Valley.
The main purpose of this vigil is to continue to rally support and assistance towards her family, friends and community as we all continue to work tirelessly to help bring her back home safely to her family.
This vigil will be held on Thursday March 3rd, 2011 at the Layou Playing Field from 5:30 p.m. Addresses and appeals are expected from officials of the Isiah Thomas Secondary School, The Dominica Police Force, the Welfare Division, religious leaders of the Layou and surrounding communities, National Youth Council members as well as family and friends of the young lady.
We are extending invitations to her family, friends, community, school mates and the general public to join us as we pray for the safe return of Shanice and for comfort to her family during this ordeal.
Let us continue to work together as we bring a sense of safety, security and comfort to a hurting family.
Why arent the investigators say where she was last seen and what she was wearing, please give more information even maybe her height and weight could help people remember where they might seen someone who looks like her.All information may help people identify her.some one may have seen her somewhere and is by giving such information will make them remember where they seen someone with such indentity. Even a bus driver may remember that they picked up or dropped someone somewhere with such information.Remember if she had a boyfriend the police should know. Families and friends should be interigated by investigators.Hey you never know. Trust no one.
i cant believe this lil girl is not found yet. im so nervous bcuz wen u kno the person its hard to hve thoughts that will cause u pain….God! i jus pray for the best!
We need to find her. Send people to DNO site to put anything they know. We really need to find this child. Hope is Great, Pray is excellent Faith is critical but it is written “Faith without works is dead.” Lets Find That Child. Tell everyone to come to DNO and tell us anything that is useful about her or the missing man. We have to find that child. Sympathy is of little value of itself. What is most valuable is for us with one voice to encourage others to tell what they know. Police protection in Dominica is virtually non-existent so that can be a setback for people wishing to come forward. But on DNO, everyone can be anonymous so send them there. Let them know they can say it on DNO. Shanice is one of us. Lets Get Our Child Back!!!
I pray for the safe return of this child. May God give His strength to her family, particularly her mother who must be suffering not knowing how her child is faring out every day and night.
i just hope she is safe and returns home soon bcuz i am about the same age and i cannot imagine being in this position……… Lord help her and her family……
@ dessie… Do u know something that the authority does not? It is almost very difficult to believe that there is no one who knows of the whereabouts of this young lady.
What are the people of the village saying…. this could be very informative.
lord i pray this child is alive whereevr she is , i pray that you give her strength and courage to go through whatever ,situation she is, i pray for her that someone will find her safe, or who ever is detaining her let her go back to her family whom i can only imagin what pain they going through, lord her us.. this is just too sad!!! we praying for u , and by the grace of god u will be found safe..
alasss poor child i wonder where she could be
in America they have an Amber alert we need to set up a Shanice Alert in Dominica
i think that DNO should send this information about Shanice to all other news links that they have all over the caribbean because there are other lins at the bottom of this page.
the media and police should also send this to all of the caribbean islands i normally look at caribbean news and i have not seen this come up at all. the photos should be circulating all over the caribbean..
Desie needs to be question
Desie I agree with you because today i am hearing another story totally from what I first heard. But hoping she is safe and sound and realized that everyone is putting their time and energy in looking for her. If she is dead then God bring this person to justice.
well wht is that story
a candlelight vigil is a positive thing. they are praying for her safe return. why does every little gesture warrant a negative comment?
where is this young lady Lord . Send her home Bring her home to her family and friends, this is so sad,
I come on this page everday to see if she’s found… this is so sad
this is sad for real, well i hope she be found, and to her family i say hold on do nt give up on god for he will nt give up on u
i’m wondering if the neighbouring isles have been informed on this missing girl,,,, this is unfortunate but at this time eyes are now being looked upon the family,,, i mean in that case everyone could be a suspect,,, leave no stone unturned cuz this is suspicious,,, remember the guy in the village who went missing have been missing b4 shanice,,, so possibly they are not linked,,, wat has dominica come to,,, a shooting was done at a popular bar with more than 10 people present yet the police has said the perpetrator is still unidentified,,, so i guess the bartender doesn’t know or didn’t see the man,,, every one saw him leave on bike but no one saw the plate number,,,, in the age of blackberrys so we be dere nah,,,, please when u all spend over $1000.00 on a phone put it to good use,,,
what is Dominica becoming. Lets bring that old adage: It takes a village. News like this is just devasting. As a mother I feel for her parents – hope she is alright.
This breaks my heart…God i am praying for her safe return…please let us help this family!…Please i am call on all DNO readers to come and let us form a massive search party and search every part of this community and bushes….We a praying for your safe return meanwhile
i believe she safe
But we doing like she passed away
being gone for so long must cause thoughts like that to come to your mind
a vigil isnt necessarily about the death of someone, do your research desie. its normally described as a nocturnal devotional exercise, esp. on the eve before a church festival
Lord have mercy
To Dessie, if you think she is safe maybe you know something that the authority does not know. You need to let someone know if you know, cuz if it was someone in your afmily you would expect the same from me.
