DLP Grand Bay candidate saddened by death of Noreen John

Edward Registe is the DLP candidate for Grand Bay

Dominica Labour Party candidate for the Grandbay constituency, Senator Edward Registe, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of attorney Noreen John.

According to earlier reports John died in Antigua on her way to London for medical attention.

“We were greeted with the unfortunate and very sad news of the passing of Noreen John,” he said.

According to Registe, her contribution to national development and community development will certainly be remembered.

On behalf of his family, he extended condolences to the family of John. He also condoled with the leadership and membership of the opposition United Workers Party.

Meantime, Past president of the Dominica Council of Women (DNCW), Josephine Dublin-Prince also expressed sadness following the passing of John.

“Noreen was the first Secretary [DNCW] from 1986 and spearheaded the women’s movement, always very clear in her analysis and ensured gender mainstreaming in all aspects of development,” she said.

According to Dublin-Prince, she [John] was also a founder member of the Southern Women for Rural Development, “a very vibrant women’s organization of Grandbay. “I am sure the women can attest to her honesty, integrity, fairness, commitment and hard work.”

She continued, “She was also the Women in Development Officer of the small projects assistance team where I worked with her.”

John, who had been announced as the United Workers Party’s (UWP) candidate for Grand Bay in the next general election, was absent when the UWP presented its full slate of candidates at a public meeting on the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard on Sunday May 19, 2019.

UWP leader, Lennox Linton revealed at the event, that John was not well and had gone overseas for medical attention.

This is so sad. Wishing comfort to her family and friends and may they find peace in the fact that she rests in peace waiting for the call of our maker.

Noreen John was a formidable woman, expressive, passionate, caring, developmentally focussed and this is why she became part of the UWP Team because of their values and decency in politics. That we are unable say of the disturbing, corrupt Labour government. The DLP, its leader and parliamentarians have failed Dominica. Meanwhile Noreen John was focussed on development and the building of people, their communities in particular Grand Bay and Tete Morne where she resides. A formidable woman, she will be remembered and really missed in Grand Bay and Domininca in general.
Grand Bay will present a good replacement to Noreen and that baton has now been passed and the race has moved on. Grand Bay constituency will have a UWP Parl Rep. UWP will be welcomed in Grand Bay

Rest in Peace , she would have won that seat . What caused her death ? This is very suspicious.

Stop …………………. You could not blame it on the hospital in Dominica because she passed away in Antigua. Your excuse – this is very suspicious. I guess nobody dies except you. People are dying everyday in America – the country with the most advanced medicine.. Wake up, Augustine. Your silly little girl. Your uneducated Dominican.

    Your accomplished hypocrite..You lie!
You stood moo moo while your lazy leader referred to she and 20 other Dominicans as “left over soup” and “buggy” and said nothing .Now your twisted tongue is saying something else? Darn hypocrite..
Fool the other bloggers, but don’t you ever try to fool me. You are many times worst than your leader.

That’s not a fair comment to Mr. Registe. What could he say while his leader was bashing the UWP candidates at Castle Bruce. I can assure you that the well-thinking Dominicans who follow the labour party are not at all pleased with the comments emanating from their leader’s mouth but what can they say? I personally believe that Mr. Registe is very genuine in his comments because I know him personally.

Tit for tat. How about that? You hypocrite.

I honestly concur with this comment and to prove the dirty and gutter politics of Skerrit. When he does not have whom he wants and they choose their choice of political party that corrupt about Governemnt so called leader repeats stupidity talk. Nothing of decency and honourable. Well, that is how it is and that is how his so called supporters promote. Rather than asking this failed PM Skerrit t watch his dirty, childish language it is endorsed and if it is a worlds prize of hour. No, it is a sad state of affairs of this failed inept Pm. We are happy that he will Go. Just go, Get lost Skerrit has been failure to all of Dominica. Skerrit must Go. Corrupt DLP government must Go. They have failed.

A woman with a tremendous proven track record. Condolences to the family. One of the many honest, former labourites who are abandoning ship by the droves. Something’s definitely happening.

Mr. untidy wi boy. Fix the tie properly in your neck feller! The other day he was on TV with Vince and Ian, he in a old stretch out polo shirt with all the buttons unbottoned. She would have given you a run for your money. Cronyism and tribal politics alone that would have saved you.

“time has told” don’t sound like a labourite. At least the man has paid his respects to the deceased lady.

He might even jump the floor on his own when the UWP Team Dominica wins the next general elections.

Mr Registe your condolences are welcomed by all in the UWP Team Dominica

We are all feeling the lost of our dear Noreen so don’t be like the other labourities who like to disgrace themselves, she would like us all to unite because she is still with us, so I call on every one to respect her because this is not the time for negative comments.
