young people think driving fast is fun. driving with booming music is cool. omg they make me sick. driving with booming music makes you look like an idiot. and speeding is so stupid and irresponsible.
but in developed and developing countries it takes unfortunate incidents like this to create safer living. these incidents hasn’t been creating any change in dominica. lets hope this changes today.

i feel 4 the young girls family. death is just a portal to another more beautiful life but accepting it as mortals is very hard & i have been there, i know how hard it is. may god be with you all.
i feel 4 the young boy. i admit he was an idiot, but how many of us were mature and level headed at that age. its just that he got a big exam one time. may god give you strength, forgiveness and better direction.

i feel 4 the family of the young boy. everyone is somebody’s son. may god have mercy on them as well.
may justice be done & may everyone find peace and happiness. RIP…

Look at the dent on the vehicle. If that was a point of collision then that driver was driving to fast and we are talking about a 10 year old here.

Correct me if im wrong but i swear is like every week its a new accident, like someone said, when we going to start taking licenses and charging you 5000 and 2 months jail when caught driving on a suspended license.
Cause the people that do that is people that think Dominica have road for racing. Where Dominica have place to race there?

It is time now for the authorities to act decisively and take the decision to place speed humps in communities. I am not saying that speed humps will prevent accidents, but it will definitely slow down drivers who drive recklessly through the communities. The law also must come down hard on those drivers who cause the death of someone. There is no way that a driver who through is carelessness, causes the death of a pedestrian, should still be holding a driver’s license. Yes, that still happens. That driver should be suspended from driving for at least a minimum period of 10 years. So please Authorities, start making the community roads safe for persons to be able to walk safely.

I said it before and saying it again, WE NEED TO START TAKING LICENSES. When people do nonsense , take their license so they will ask them self a question.

Not only the license but also a heavy fine. If they don’t pay take the vehicle. But this is wishful thinking because the Skerrit regime will do absolutely nothing

Yes its a main road I think there should be speed bumps on that road I have seen drivers going as fast as i would say 60 MPH on that stretch people always think a straight road is for speeding and not thinking that any minute some animal or some body might be coming out of the side street or short cuts people be careful and drive responsibly slow down you will get there.

This is just so sad. When will Dominican male drivers learn that the first rule of driving is SAFETY. It’s not just important that you get to where you are going on time, but that passengers and pedestrians are also SAFE. Too many car accidents!

Responsible driver ask yourself how many times you hear female drivers having violent accidents or killing people? This should be your answer.

Imagine eh sometimes those children does just be playing in d sreets and just walking and bending into traffic to cross the road without even looking and even young kids walking unsupervised. R.I. p sad to hear sorry to read this. condolences to the parents

WhileI understand your point the drivers license is issued with the understanding that the holder knows the procedures and operating requirements of vehicles on the public road. Therefore that makes them responsible for everybody else but themselves in the street.

        June 8, 2018

Exactly. As a responsible driver you literally have to drive for everyone on the road not just yoursefl including those driving in front you, those who going to overtake behind you, oncoming traffic on the other side and of course the pedestrians. You have to be cautious esp when driving through busy communities such as bath estate. You think you can drive how u want in mahaut? or goodwill? Just a random example.

I know what it is like to lose someone dear to you, but i cant imagine what the family of this beautiful young child must be going through. NO MOTHER OR FATHER WANTS TO BURY THEIR BABY. I hope this is a lesson to all the drivers to THINK AND OBSERVE BEFORE YOU ACT.

While I agree with you, Dominican pedestrians are way too reckless. Dominicans have this “you better not jam me” attitude when walking on the road. People walking in the middle of the road, people recklessly crossing the road, people walking with HEADPHONES and the worst part is that when you almost miss an accident they will cuss you out even though it is their fault. Pedestrians need to be more careful on the road.

The driver was driving too fast. The vehicle in front if him stop to allow her to cross the road. So he killed her
