The fire in Roseau took place on Tuesday morning

Two dwelling homes have, in a matter of days, been destroyed by fire, Public Relations Officer for the Fire and Ambulance Department, Wayne Letang, has said.

One occurred in the community of Eggleston on Sunday 13th December 2015, and the other in the wee hours of Tuesday 15th December 2015 in Roseau.

“I can confirm that approximately 2.59 this morning the Roseau Fire Station responded to a house fire within the city and that fire was in the vicinity of Ship Street. On arrival the fire officers met that building fully ablaze with adjacent buildings being threatened,” he told Dominica News Online (DNO) on Tuesday.

He said the building was owned and occupied by Avril Casimir.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, he informed.

Letang also stated that the fire was contained within 40 to 45 minutes.

No other buildings were affected.

Letang said the Eggleston fire took place at 5.04 am.

He noted that the top floor of the building was destroyed by the blaze.

The occupant of the building was a non-national and the house is owned by Sulaiman Shillingford, who resides out of state, Letang stated.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The PRO urged members of the public to be “a little more alert” to reduce the hazards in their homes.

“We want to encourage persons to continue fire safety in their homes. If we are using electricity, or candles, always remember that we have to do that safely. Do not leave fires unattended,” he noted.

He also urged citizens and business owners to be mindful of their use of electricity for Christmas lighting and also while baking during the holiday season.

Fire can have many origins such as man made ,whether it is voluntary or accidental ,faulty electrical supplies, such as an iron left on an inflammable surface ,faulty electrical accessories like the washing machine can put fire, some homes like mine any time something is faulty the meter turns off on it’s own but i hope it works all the time.Fire alarms are very important in houses and the gov’t should make sure that every one owns one, nonetheless yesterday i was saying that dominica fire fighters have no value in the gov’t’s eyes, nor do they either value themselves, because how can you have a simple t-shirt and a pair of trousers to put of a fire?i saw them on dno dressed up that way,a house can be rebuilt but no one can wake you up from the dead, fire fighters are fathers, sons, uncles, cousins and friends ,people are responsible for these fires ,they are idle and should be punished…because they are putting people’s lives in danger, people loose their property and the gov’t’s…

There are many fires in Dominica. What is the cause of those fires?
Dominicans should be informed of the reason for those fires so that they could take extra precaution.
The article states the top of one of the buildings was ablaze. Does this mean the interior or exterior? If it is the interior would this have to do with smoking? Was the occupant a smoker?
Fire Chief, you must provide some fire prevention counseling and demonstrations to Dominicans especially in the areas where there have been fires.

If you really do not know, here is answer below:

    God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness–Romans 1: 18-23

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

      Continued –Romans 1: 24-27

Therefore God gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

God also gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

All that those two sets of scriptures are saying, is that God will turn His back against those who do not think they need Him in Life–but He knows that people cannot live without Him.

And without God’s guidance and protection nothing will work out, but He will not intervene unless those who are suffering will realize their needs and to humbly turn back to Him

Damn it! Yes, “they (the Fire Truck an dem) got there and saw that the house was fully ablazed.” So what on earth did they do then? Report it to DNO? These firemen in Dominica are drawing a salary doing jack. Tell me, when last did the firemen put out a fire? Eh? Are they always fully donned with apparatus and gears ready to go at the “beck and call?” Or do thy get ready after the call? People in Dominica should learn how to put out their own house fire, without relying on help that’s always too late.

They should be very prepared and on standby for when there is a report of a fire and ready to combat the fire. All they should have to do is to put on their outer gear and hat.

Yeah, you must be one of the “firemen” putting in “ridiculous” hours doing Jackkk. I know what I’m talking about, mister!!! How comes all the house fires have totally consumed the structures? Why then do we need a fire department? What is it that they do with these “ridiculous hours” they put it? Paint the firehouse floors?

When will Dominicans sit down and reflect on the paterns of very very unsettling things happening in Dominica one after the other?
Something seems to be very wrong because to many bad things happening
    Where did things go wrong?
    What is wrong?
Who will do some decerning regarding the series of bad breaks for Dominica
It’s unfortunate that Dominicans are made to suffer like this….
Something went wrong somewhere. Perhaps Dominicans need to turn completely to God.

I think something is wrong with you.

In life there are ups and downs. It happens to the most successful people and also to the poorest. That is just how life goes.

What one has to do is protect themselves as best they can against the downs of life. That would include getting a good education or learning a skill to give you the tools to earn a decent living. Staying out of trouble and doing the right things. It means if you have property, you buy insurance in the event of a catastrophic event like this.

There is nothing mysterious about this It is called life.

As long as there are people, there will be accidents of some sort.
They must pray to God for protection. Some people merely live. They never ask God for blessing and graces to also perform good works. Of course, it depends how they live. They think nothing could happen to them. They also take God for granted.
Not perhaps turn to God. They must turn to God. He is the Be All and End All of It All.
