Frederick “Juiceman” Joseph who owns a bar in Pottersville has lost everything because of a fire. The blaze started just around 7.30pm Monday and quickly engulfed the entire house.
“I put everything aside to develop this place and see what happened,” Joseph stated.
He was in total shock as firefighters battled to keep the fire under control.
Roseau South MP, Joshua Francis who is a close friend of Juiceman described the fire as “unfortunate.”
“It took me 20 years to develop this place. I was inside ready to open my place. I lost everything I have no where to stay.” Frederick lamented.
When people invest money in buildings of any kind; residential, and business buildings; their number one priority is to ensure their home, and business place are insured against all perils.
Perils, means hurricane wind, and fire; earthquakes, and flood.
Some insurance companies sells special insurance to cover floods, and earthquakes, the reality is everyone should have a policy covering all “perils.”
Dominica is a place where all houses should be covered by insurance, hence in a situations like this one would not have to cry they do not have anyplace to live.
On the contrary, what happen to family and friends!
Have Dominicans become so cold, and vicious that family or friends will not extend a helping hand?
Sorry to hear. I do hope he’s place was insured. Am encouraging my people whatever you building make sure you have insurance, Don’t think your place is to small or to big to be insured. We can’t depend on other to help us build back. Juiceman all the best. You’ll bounce back my brother.
Mr. Federick, there is a verse in the Bible from good old King David, even if he was a man after God’s heart, he had his share of miseries too.
So he wrote in one of his Psalms: “Weeping may last all night but Joy comes in the mourning”
Of course, none of us wants to go through that “night of weeping” especially that it is much longer than the night of 12 hours.
We can never understand the reasons for those kinds of rebuke (training and discipline) that God puts us through, I could never imagine your pain at this time–but God, Himself knows it–for this is what He said to Paul, the apostle, who prayed for the relief of his sickness: “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in your weakness”. God’s strength is His ability to heal, whatever the affliction
So the Joy that comes in the morning will be much, much, longer than 12 hours, for it will be God’s glory, His Power of healing, through you.
I am truly sorry to read this. I dont know the gentleman or the place but I can understand his sadness. Traumatic and very stressful.
I’m so sad to hear this. His juice is the best, I would stop there on my way out of town. I pray he’s able to rebuild.
FIRE SERVICE in DA runs out of water while battling the fire in Portersville..LABOUR GOVERNMENT MUST GO..
This was one of my main spot when I visit Dominica we knew each other since we were kids I am very sorry for him a very hard working man wishing him well.
This is truly unfortunate. To lose twenty years of sacrifice in minutes is recasting. I hope Juiceman has insurance so he will get the necessary funds to rebuild. However, be happy that you are still above land and was not consumed in the fire. Want to wish you well, Juiceman!
Where did ‘recasting’ come from? ‘Devastating’ is the word I meant to use.
Bojai dominica firefighters good useless. You would think the ablazed bar was in bush somewhere, it having had time to get that big. Just there firestation be with their big vary trucks the bar had no reason to be completely gone. Miss me with that “quickly”
