RIP, Mr. Alleyne, You were a gentleman and worked very hard towards the development of Dca.
There is something about the ICU at the PMH, that once the patients are brought in there, they do not seem to survive. Is the proper care really given at that unit??
Obviously people admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) are critically ill which means they have a high likelihood of dying.
Before the icu was there the survival rate was high. I remember a man was given 3 days and he pulled through
I totally agree, My Mother…. God rest her soul, went in there for a stroke, and never recovered, and the DOCTORS and NURSES are too laid back and has no care or compassion…….
I hope you are not relative. The same with my mother and same symptom. I have not forgotten that.
Do not let the fact that you don’t want to accept the death of your relative cloud your judgement. That is the first time I have heard someone say such a thing. If you ask any of the patients who survived, they always boast that ICU nurses are the warmest, most compassionate nurses to the point they never want to be transferred to the main wards. Some of you people enjoy giving bad name to others too much.
I doubt that people are really aware of the real concept of what an ICU is about. No one wants their loved one to die so for this reason many want to blame the medical facilty. If someone dies on another ward, people will sthat PMH kills people.People must understand that ICU is for critical patients needing continuous, persistent monitoring and most times the patients will not survive, the percentage of survival is less than that of those who die.The conditions of people admitted there, there is little that can be done to save the patients and the worst thing is most times the patients are transferred when it is far too late and they are almost dead.So the notion that people have, thinking that all patients brought to ICU die,is very untrue,it all depends on the severity of the conditions and most who come are too severely ill to be saved. You hardly expect someone who is brain dead,in a coma, bleeding in his brain, has unrepairable damage to the heart,multi-organ failure etc to survive,we are not in America! We have seens patients come in half dead and walk out later on but every situation is different. Some of you appall me with the amount of things you say.
Well, Observer, you hear of those who do not make it back out alive but do you know how many “critically ill” patients are stabilized and given new leases on life because of the intervention of the ICU staff? You hear of the bad news but do Dominicans preach of the success stories?
Rest In Peace Kenny. Thank you ever so much for your special friendship. Will miss you. R.I.P
R.I.P BROTHER. Stay strong Sir Brian Alleyne and all the other relatives.
Heart broken……missing you already. Great person, great soul, great smile, great and joyful spirit. God bless his soul and take him into his presence. Rest peacefully……….Love always, B
Rip uncle Kenny.
