Parliamentary Representative for the Castle Bruce constituency, Johnson Drigo, has urged residents in the area to stay out of harm’s way as landslides and flooding have been reported in that section of the island due to heavy rains.
“The Fair Trade office has flooded and flooding continues to be one of our major concerns at the moment,” he told DNO on Friday morning. “There is a major landslide near the Emerald Pool area and the road from Castle Bruce to San Sauveur is impassable because of heavy flooding. Some rocks have fallen in San Sauveur which needs to be cleared.”
He added that there is also a small landslide in the Petite Soufriere area.
“I am asking everyone to please stay indoors and away from the flooding unless they have some sort of emergency,” Drigo said. “Allow the emergency personnel to do their work and stay out of harm’s way.”
Heavy rainfalls have been affecting the island over the past two days which have resulted in water shortages, flooding and landslides in several parts of the island.

May there not be any more lost of lives, animals or property. Lord we thank You for our country try and we acknowledge You and only You as our Master and Owner in Jesus name.

They cut all the trees in the interior of the country including Pond casse . Wilshire and others were AGAINST it and complain of the situation to the GOVERNMENT & NATION and nothing this I believe is part of the result. When you CUT TREEES YOU AFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
This is why the Roseau river is reduced to such little water and looks the way it does. It was once a beautiful river with a lot of water flowing to the sea.
Of course, there is a price to pay for improvement and progress. Also, when there is a hurricane with obviously high winds, there is always a loss of trees.
oh yeah so the trees going to stop the rain from falling then it has nothgin to do with the trees its the amount of rain in such a short period of time that causing all that flooding trees have nothign to do with that cutting trees have to do with water retention in the soil and presevation of our rivers once the soil get saturated by that amount of rain in such a short period of time ofcourse u gonna get flooding cause the water have nowhere else to go
Will some one please explain to me where in c/bruce this house is situated?

This is the Fair Trade building, on the road to Dis Paix (Deepah).
does this mean that children from that area who attend school in town area will not be able to go? plus dsc exams start on wednesday
Would you allow your child to wade through this water to get to Roseau?
well idiot if your dsc exam is more importatant than your life PLEASE ALL OF US A FAVOR GO GET YOUR KILLED .
If there is a flood and the roads are impassable, obviously they may not be able to go to school. Today is Friday. By Wednesday the roads may be passable. Pray that this occurs. In the meantime they should keep studying for their exams and try not to worry about the roads for now.
There is the saying, “Today is tomorrow that I was worrying about yesterday.” It is something we should keep in mind. Tomorrow never comes.
Oh Lord watch over us. This reminds me of the endless rain on November 26, 2004. Dominica is a praying and God-fearing nation. We shall overcome.
