Imagine driving with no lights. This is another offense; three in all. He should not be released on bail.

That is what we call a hit and run accident. It is a criminal offense. The driver committed two crimes.
I hope in time the injured recovers.
Pedestrians, always try to be careful when crossing the road. Look both ways. Keep your ears opened for the sound of an approaching vehicle.
Drivers always look out for pedestrians. You should also drive with this in mind just as you should look out for other vehicles. Decrease your speed. This could help if per chance you observed a pedestrian trying to cross, that you will be able to put on your brakes to stop without hitting him/her. This also pertains to other vehicles.
If there is a vehicle behind you, the same should apply for the driver of that vehicle and others. All should drive cautiously so as to avoid a collision and multiple ones which could cause injuries and deaths.

When approaching a residential area, you must drive with due ,care and attention. HITTING a person with your vehicle and don’t even stop to find out if he needed attention. What was on board that vehicle and you didn’t want others to see. no mercy or pity for others. No respect, no manners. Ban from driving for life.

You are right both drivers and pedestrians must be carefu . We take chances to cross the roads all the time to beat the approaching vehicle. We have to value our lives more. Reckless driving is also very bad and drivers have to always look out for the person who sometimes appears from nowhere.

Hope the victim recovers fully from his injuries and the driver hope it was an accident that could not be avoided and was unaware someone was hit and the only reason the driver did not stop and call for help.
