Marpin 2k4 Limited said on Monday it is saddened after one of its employees succumbed to injuries from an accident on the job.
Runnel Baron, a construction and planning engineer, had been out of hospital recuperating but had to be rushed back last week after contracting an infection, said Walter Maude, General Manager of Marpin 2k4.
He disclosed that Baron died Saturday night. Maude has described Baron as a reliable employee and said management was anticipating his return.
“We were all shocked and there’s a great deal of grief and distress among the staff of his passing,” he said.
Baron was flown to a Martinique hospital few days after a utility pole he was working on, broke and toppled on him.
The incident occurred in Les Pointe on September 16.
Did he have aw ife or any kids?

If my toe burst send me to the us for treatment….. Pas la! Them kwaseh doctors Dominica has!
SHUT ALL YOU MOUTH PEOPLE LIKE ALL U THAT BRING DOWN DOMINICA.THE DOCTORS IN DOMINICA DO THERE BEST WITH THE LITTLE THEY HAVE. ALL YOU COME TO THE STATE PAY MONEY ALL YOU LEND FROM THE BANK, STILL DO NOT GET SATISFACTION BECAUSE THAT IS HOW THE STATE MAKE MONEY TO BUY THE EQUIPMENT THAT PEOPLE FORM OTHER COUNTRY LIKE DOMINICA COME TO OPERATE.
FYI: (Reuters) – About one in three people in the United States will encounter some kind of mistake during a hospital stay, U.S. researchers said 2011-APRIL
Sadddddddd
Why does DNO post such graffic pics of people involve in accidents? That’s not nice.
Peace.
Time to consider a comprehensive occupational safety plan nationwide to help prevent these incidents. This is real sad. My heart goes out to the family
the amount of money utility cost on Dominica why can’t they invest in utility vehicles with the bucket. It is 2011.
Next when we are feverishly building a palace and overlooking the healthcare system. we will always have to raise funds and dish out money to other countries for medical purposes.
they have one. the RED hyundai truck that autotrade sold to them.
SO SAD, HE PASSED FROM DOING WHAT HE LOVED
GONE SO SOON. THOUGH WORDS, HOWEVER GENTLE,
CANNOT TAKE YOUR LOSS AWAY, MAY THIS HEART-FELT MESSAGE HELP SOMEHOW TO COMFORT YOU TODAY. WITH DEEPEST SYMPATH TO THE FAMILY.
MAY HE REST IN PEACE
Like everyone said it is really sad to hear of his death and just as he got home hoping that he was on his way to recovery. my people it is important to think before we write, some comments are blaming the hospital and DNO the guy was at PMH for a while maybe he should have stayed there a little longer but he could have died there to so don’t blame PMH for sending him home, also is true DNO could have put another pic there, but for ne readers of this news they would want to see it to, so my people make suggestions and stop the blaming
It should be made against the law for utility companies to have pole climbing staff working individually. It’s not safe. One does not know what is happening at street level when they are high up on the ladder. What one would miss in regards to safety, the other might notice.
I pray that another family will not be struck with this kind of fatality.
May have died from septecaemia (infection in the blood), example. methcillin resistant staphylococcus aureus.
Rest in Peace Brother!
My condolences to his family and friends
R.I P
That is really sad to hear and see that. Sincerest condolences to his framily and friends.
May Marpin take FULL responsibility for his funeral expenses and may his family gets a HUGE compensation from Marpin!!!
DNO Admin, Is that the only pic you have of Baron? Please, this should not be the pic shown here. Can you get another pic of the man’s normal face, so we could identify him? Thanks.
ADMIN: Only one we have. The reason why we use this one in that position is because his face is not being shown. If his face was appearing in the photo and he was in that position, we would never use it.
it is so sad to see he went home well recuperating suddenly he dies
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE
My heart felt condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Mr Baron.
OOH I AM SO SAD TO SEE THIS PIC IT HURTS ME BAD HE MY FRIEND. HE IS SO KIND AND TRUSTWORTHY! R.I.P ERROLL BARON. NEVER KNEW IT WAS YOU GONE SO SOON.

Sue the Hospital for Negligence I say
OH PLEASE FOOL !!, THE MAN LEFT THE HOSPITAL ALRIGHT AND GOT AN INFECTION AT HIS HOME. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SUE THE HOSPITAL ???
This is so sad, please remove that photo DNO it is already difficult for the family, put a another photo there with happy moments. Ask Marpin for one they will gladly give it to you. We must be a caring people here, to much negativity already in our beautiful country.
‘Sad news to me’,i known this man for a very longtime during my early days in marpin. He was a close friend to me and a very nice guy to work with.May his soul rest in peace, my greaties sympathy goes out to his family.
We are saddened to lose another one of our peeps. Don’t we have any kind of health care system in DA? We go to Martinique for critical medical treatment, really? Now our economic passport program dollars could come into great use in this respect, don’t you think? RIP dude.
I fully agree with you, Those in the so-called high places” of Dominica survives the most. Their moto, “All shall eat, yest they are the ones with their plated always “full”
What if martinique and barbados was as slow as Dominica? what would they do. They need to get their own, with all the money they are making especialy from some of the ill-gotten gains
ONE DAY SOME OF US WI LEARN TO THINK BEFORE WE WRITE
may ue soul rest in peace………………..
rest in peace
Geeeeeese man. DNO, now he has left this life, put another picture. No one wants to remember him like this.
May the family and friends find comfort in God.
I know so graphic. Just dont understand how the media only knows to show the worst of everything. So gross!
Not only that…but somebody’s left hand there busy taking a picture with their BlackBerry…I don’t know, I just find people are to tasteless these days…that’s the best thing you find to do?
So sad, My condolences to the family and friends. Was a long hard battle. RIP.
This is so sad. I pray for strength for his family and that they heal while holding on to whatever they trust in as their rock of faith.
may his soul rest in peace ….and may his family and friends find comfort, strength and peace in the promise of God never give us more than we can bear
Indeed sad, may his family, friends, well wishers and co-workers find comfort in this trying times. May he RIP
DNO I understand the need to generate “hits.” But I think you guys should seriously reconsider publishing such graphic pictures.
What is so graphic about the pic?
I agree with Anonymous even in situations like this we all deserve some dignity
we dont have to expose someomne like this next time DNO dont do it so graphically. think of the person love ones. thanks
@”put them straight”…..should an unfortunate incident like this hit your doorstep I want to see if you will still ask “what is so graphic about the pic?” I for one know I would not want MY or any person I care about body to be displayed in this manner. Admin: would you like it if it were YOU or someone you cared about? The line between tact and distasteful cyan be so thin…magway ca!
Sad…may his soul rest in peace
