An SUV heading in a southerly direction overturned under the Canefield cliff earlier this afternoon when the driver lost control.
DNO has been informed that the occupants of the vehicle were a young woman and her daughter who were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical examination.
According to the information received, the mother and daughter suffered minor injuries but are otherwise in good health.
Position the police and hand out tickets. Get some revenue and stop the accidents.
Along this stretch of road and all others, I leave a save stopping distance between my vehicle and the vehicle ahead of me.
But guess what: invariably a vehicle behind me risks overtaking against on-coming traffic and sneaks into that space. More often than not, the overtaking vehicle is a bus jammed packed with passengers.
Just about once or twice per month, there is a accident on that bit of Road; however, no one takes time out to figure out if there is a problem (a defect) in the construction of that stretch of road which keep on causing these accidents.
If there is no defect in the road, then the accidents are caused by speeding and drunkenness.
Whenever, someone decides to drive while inebriated, that should be their funeral; hence there should be no sympathy for such people!
I believe there is a defect in the way the road is constructed; therefore the government is responsible for all the accidents which has occurred under Cane Field.
More traffic signs need to erected under the cliff. Happy that they were not hurt.
If only you stop and think of how many of us Dominicans got our license because we brought a dasheen for the licensing officer 😜😜 many of us do not even recognize a STOP sign let alone a speedometer.
I just dont get it,these people do not follow the road laws in this lawless country.
But if it is a lawless country how can they follow THE LAWS? You are contradicting your own self and makes you sound like a fool.
what the hell the accident has to do with you running your mouth about road laws. i read and the article says nothing about road laws. shut your damn mouth !!!!! STUPES.
This is an accident, why bring politics in that, u just cannot help yourself. stuppppes
Praise God, some positive news for once.
Could a vehicle only flip over? There must be speeding involved. Thanks to the Almighty God they are fine. Drivers when you are on the road , please look out for the other driver, while you will be driving with due care and attention there’s the other one who will be driving recklessly
Praise God they are ok, whether is speeding or not
Everyday I seeing things with my two big eyes wee ; man chasing man with cutlass big high day in roseau, scooter overtaking vehicles and just cutting across them, paro begging in Roseau everyday like its Christmas, and accident in Dominica every day now like is buy people buying license.
Most important is they are safe.
It’s other drivers that can cause such incidents along that stretch.
The speed limit should be controlled. Signs for no over taking should be in place.
