One injured in accident at Woodbridge Bay

The scene of the accident this morning

One person was injured and rushed to hospital following an accident at Woodbridge Bay this morning.

The accident reportedly involved a car, a pickup truck and a CRV.

Alleged eyewitnesses said the car and the pickup were driving in the direction of Roseau when the car hit the pickup at the back.

In an attempt not to hit a bus and some pedestrians ahead of him, the pickup’s driver swerved but apparently lost control and crashed into the CRV on the other side of the road, the alleged eyewitnesses said.

The driver of the CRV was taken to the Princess Margret Hospital, the eyewitnesses said. The extent of injury is unknown at this time.

Want my view… i am happy that our infrastructure is finally being developed but we have to be real on these roads that are being built there are going to be accidents because of how we dominicans are… smooth roads so we gonna speed, i’m a driver myself so i’m speaking from experience. what i’m trying to say is we talking about enforcing the law but nothing is being done about it… first of all we need traffic lights and secondly tracking devices example cameras, on all the highways and roads to keep track of who are the ones going over the speed limit and breaking the traffic rules. Unless this is not done there are going to be a number of accidents because of some of our careless drivers.. its because we have it to sweet here we do the things that we do but i think its time dominica is taught a less… :)

First of all I hope everyone is safe. As it seems the white car caused to accident and is wrong.
In my opinion this road design is rubbish and not well thought of. Here’s why.
This is a major route into the Capital you have people who HAVE to move with urgency, Doctors, someone may be injured and life threatening (You can’t depend on waiting on the ambulance in D/A (be real). There are people driving UNREASONABLY slow at times elderly, partly blind etc and you’re forced to waste valuable time.
For those who dont agree and ignorant and are going no where fast with they’re life.

Those accidents can be avoided. because some drivers feel they must ride the median, to go to nowhere as they are always busy. That area is clearly one up one down, but what some people do is tail the one in front and do not give you any space for error. Hope the person in the car will be fine.

D stop being a Nuisance and or bias accidents will always happen regardless of
    1) How many laws are made accidents will still happen, crimes will still be committed . the slightest thing cud cause a driver or Vehicle to lose control causing an accident..
    2) NO Matter how wide or small a road is
cause the roads where i relocated to are two lane roads n guess what shit still happens…….. i’m jus saying

something needs to be done about those bus drivers creating those accidents.

It’s not about the bus–the driver of the white car was driving without due care and attention or tailgating the pickup truck.

Man for a busy high way, that divider in the middle there sure makes that road small.

Anyways, hope all injured recover soon.

If you see how these people drive on the road, one would expect more accidents to take place. They drive so close to the other vehicles, if the one in front of them slows down, they quick to overtake, regardless of pedestrians or other oncoming vehicles.

There is a big sign under the canefield cliff.. “DO NOT OVERTAKE”, and guess what, that is where they overtake the most.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR THEM TO IMPLEMENT HEFTY FINES. SO MUCH SO THAT THEY WONT BE ABLE TO MAKE THEIR MONTHLY CAR PAYMENTS.

:-x that’s the kind of thing that upsets me. Just why did the damn car hit the pick up from behind? don’t they know they’re suppose to be driving for 3 set of people(himself, the person infront and the person behind). I hope that the injuries are not life threatening, yet it could’ve been worse. I think harsher charges need to be put on careless drivers. Alot of drivers are always in a hurry… why? Nobody knows. But keep in mind: ” You can only be late once”, so whatever the rush, take a braether because you may cause more damage than anticipated. And a little advice during the rainy season: make sure your tyres have grips, brakes working fine, and be more cautious!

IT IS BAD ENOUGH TO HAVE SUCH AN ACCIDENT, BUT SPECULATION MAKES IT WORSE.
WHEN A VEHICLE IS HIT ANYWHERE AROUND THE BACK END IT CAN EASILY GO OUT OF CONTROL AND SO IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THE DRIVER SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ANYONE, THAT WOULD IMPLY SOME RESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT MIGHT NOT BE SO.
THANK YOU MY BRO/SIS. HAVE A GOOD DAY

For those stupid drivers who think it’s not necessary to be cautious when it rains. The CRV… that’s my neighbour right there. You all aren’t the only ones needing to get to where ever take your @#@# time and get some breaks on…new ones..good ones
