PDM saddened by events in Haiti

The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) said it is deeply saddened by news about a massive earthquake that struck Haiti killing thousands of people.

PDM Leader Dr. William Para Riviere said Haiti now needs the assistance of the world in other to combat such devastation.

He said government should take immediate action to assist the people affected.

“We know the people of Haiti to have historically an extremely resilient people. They have beaten overwhelming odds in the past and we have no doubt that they will do it again. But we believe that now more than ever that if they are to rise as quickly as possible from the ashes of that earthquake, they will need the support of friends and allies as well as the assistance of people of goodwill,” he said.

“We hope a way would be found to send some of our people’s money to assist the reconstruction and rehabilitation effort there. We also call on our supporters and people of Dominica to give generously as much as they can although we recognize the pressing economic circumstances,” he continued.

According to the political leader, the best way to show solidarity is to embrace Haitians living in Dominica “as truly our brothers and sisters, and make them feel at home.”

Saddly, Haiti is one of very few nations on earth where people have adopted religion that worship the Devil. Yes Voodoo, and Evil practices is not just a practice in Haiti. They actull have ordained Voodoo priests. Let us hope our fellow Haitian’s will wake up and stop being greedy and envious of their brothers. May the innocent and children survive.
