i really thought that something would be done about theserotten postafter the gentleman who fell from the rotten pole while working in massarce for marpin and lost his life in 2011. how many more have to loose their lives before something is done

      March 18, 2013

Completely agree with you to but the only THINGS to lose their lives in this incident were the top of that bus and the pole itself. But I totally agree with you, you are completely right. Something needs to be done.

  7. March 17, 2013

Hello. Well we are very relief that there wasn’t anyone in the bus. Now it’s really clear that the Pole is rotten at the base and we know DA is a very rainy Country therefore they must inspect the poles. The Poles in populated areas must be inspected every three years because if they collapse they can cause injuries or death and its the responsibility of the company(DOMLEC)to maintain their property.

This is nothing short of a miracle! It is also a great promotion for the bus manufacturer. A heavily laden 40 foot pool drops on this bus, yet the bus was not show any massive structural collaspe. Thats remarkable, it does not mean that the bus is not damaged, but it shows that it can take some good blows whilst protecting any passengers(when carrying)

    • $$$$
      March 18, 2013

That was no miracle. The miracle would have been if that post had fallen directly in front or behind that bus and the only thing that would be crying right now would be the post itself. Just hope that DOMlEC dosen’t cheat the man out of what he diserves for the damage to his bus caused by their rotten pole.

Say thank God is on a bus it fell; a piece of man-made machinery and not a human being. And don’t bash me for saying thank God is not during the early hours of a Saturday morning when fellas under their waters from by Peter and Ma Pope, just about 100 ft away…cause they does just sprawl out on the sidewalk in their drunken stupor.

Thank God it was empty and pedestrians were not harmed. The pole must have been rotten, what with age, rain, sun and wind. The authorities should examine all poles throughout Roseau. Hope this does not happen again in any part of the town or elsewhere in the country.

That’s a serious matter. Fortunately no one was injured, but Domlec would be well advised to do a full audit of its utility poles. Another day, someone else might not be so lucky.
