Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency Joshua Francis has called for unity in the wake of Tropical Storm Erika.
Francis who is overseas, issued a statement in which he also called for prayers for the nation.
“Let us be united and rally around each other in the times of grave need. And I call on our prayer warriors across every religious denomination to keep praying. We must do our best to protect each other,” Francis stated.
He added, “Together, we must stand together, and together as a nation we will overcome!”
“It’s a very worrying, and sad moment for us; some of us have lost our loved ones, some of us have been made homeless and some of us have had some kind of material loss. We are going to need as much help as possible.
“However, we should not lose our resolve, resilience, faith, and love for each other.”
Francis said that he has summoned his teams to do assessments and record the concerns of his constituents.
He promised cut his trip and return to Dominica as quickly as possible.
People of Dominica. I worked at Ross University for years and came to love the Dominican people. You are brave and of resilient spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you And your families. My best wishes to you. In particular Ryan Didier, Ronson Dalrymple, Titus Francis, Gerald Grell and so many more.
You will rise above this.
I just recently learned that Dominica even existed until I recently watched an episode of Watt’s World on TV. I am praying with a hurting heart for your island today. I am praying for not only the lives that have been lost but also those that made it through this devastating time. I pray that you all find peace and comfort and of course the necessities of life. From what I saw on TV, you have a beautiful home, and an area that commercialization really hasn’t hit. Keep it that way! Don’t allow this storm to bring in all the bling and garbage of the rest of the world. Keep true to yourselves, your home and your culture. God bless you all and sending lots of love from Pennsylvania, United States. Be strong my friends, I’ll be praying!
Dominica will rise again.
