Toddler dies after falling from 11th storey of Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

An 18 month year old girl fell 150 feet to the concrete below from, it is believed, an 11 storey window of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship “Freedom of the Seas” while docked in Puerto Rico.

According to passenger accounts they heard the mother “screaming in pain” as the toddler fell. The toddler was on vacation with her parents and grand parents at the time of the incident. The young girl was said to have slipped from the arms of her grandfather identified as Salvatorre Anello who was holding her up to the window to have her watch as the ship docked.

The toddler was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

2 years ago, I lost my son to death, he was 36. He was very sick with the ailments of diabetes; but the hardest part was that he refused the help of everyone, even his dad and me. For the 5 years that he lived through his afflictions, I suffered the case of emotional pain, so unbearable. But when he died, another kind of pain took over me.

A few months ago, and up to now, God caused something to happen for me, a situation which has given much peace and rest about the sickness and death of my son–I won’t write it here

So I can imagine the pain that mother and family members are suffering right now; it is the deepest pain that a person can ever undergo–but O God! He gives us the peace and rests that we can never imagine–I have the truth.

So people, let us keep God steadfastly in our heart–not just for our every little thing but for the day we are faced with that horrible situation in Life when He and Him alone can become our Savior,

:?: I wish to extend my sympathy and condolences to the family especially the parents. This is total carelessness! The grandad probably isn’t able enough to have handled the child, far more having her in the window :?: A thorough investigation is needed, which I think will definitely be done by the American authorities. Anyway,we should not pass any judgment, let the truth reveal itself.

We should not pass any judgement but here you are passing all kinds of judgement. It’s a very sad incident and that poor grandfather will most likely be tormented by this for the rest of his life. Hope this family can grieve together and support each other after this very sad experience.

The windows don’t open. Someone has the story wrong. He probably had her sitting on the railing and wasn’t holding her tight enough.

ADMIN: There is a link to a more detailed story in the article. In that story there is a photo of the open window the toddler fell from.

      @ Annon ,
There are a few windows which opens on the pool deck the same side as the towel pickup/ drop off area. I was on this ship about a month ago and on port days they are open.

magway ca you are sooooooooo correct that was jut plain idiocracity who in the right mind thinks this is a good idea and then he saying he was holding the kid up to see the ship docking. but come on the kid can see the ship dock from inside the window. the man decide he holding the kid OUTSIDE the window awa i would lock mr in an insane asylum with the politicians it have on the planet. cause there is no cure for stupidity

What makes you think there is happiness in being dead at 18 months? Did the article mention anything about the child suffering before the fall. I dont know where the notion of happiness after death entered the lexicon.
