UPDATE: Mahaut man nursing injuries following motor vehicular collision

Stewart Lamar of Mahaut is nursing head and hip injuries at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) following a motor vehicular collision which occurred on the Edward Oliver Leblanc Highway on Friday, April 15th 2016.

According to Police PRO Acting Inspector, Pellam Jno Baptiste, the incident occurred about 1:30PM.

He said the collision occurred  between motor vehicle registration number PI754 being driven by Augustina Thomas, female adult of Mahaut and motorcycle registration number PF360 being ridden by Lamar.

“At the time PI754 was travelling in a northerly direction and PF360 in a southerly direction when the two motor vehicles collided in the Check Hall area,” Jno Baptiste explained.

Lamar was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the PMH by the Fire and Ambulance Service where he was seen by a medical Doctor and admitted.

According to Jno Baptiste, Thomas sustained no injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.

    the SUV driver is from the French country that’s why she ended up driving on the right side of the road from Guadeloupe or Martinique

    While the motocycle may have been fast but why the suv was driving on the right side of the road! Unless they change the roadcode wothout telling me it should be on the left

    Where the accident occurred is a 2 lane road, I would like to know what was the jeep doing in the area where the accident occurred? Drivers , try to be more cautious on the road

      Most likely, the suv driver was overtaking another vehicle. By the way, isn’t there a solid yellow line on that piece of road indicating no overtaking? Hhmmm!!!
