As the Edward “Alcapone” Green murder trial continues the court has ordered that David “Pino” Green be placed in ‘protective custody’ of the State.
Just before adjourning the trial on Wednesday, Justice Bernie Stephenson, made the order that Green be placed under the protection of the state.
Green is the son of the accused and is considered a key prosecution witness.
He took the witness stand on June 25 and was cross examined on June 26.
The trial will enter its 9th day on June 27.

Our Lord has ordained that you give his godly virtues of love, justice, truth and peace a chance and practice it to the fullest for the benefit of your mortal and spiritual life. Surely, as Christians you should know that and should not have to be told or reminded. It is in the Bible which tells you so!
We are all private investigators. Even the Police authorities and the Court could learn from the comments of nationals on this Website. After all, everyone, no matter what their status possesses some degree of intelligence given to them by God. Some put on their thinking cap and are also inspired to think further.
A loved one lost his life. The family continues to grieve. A man is imprisoned for 5 years on the grounds of suspicion that he committed the crime. My heart goes out to both families.
I cannot hate one and love the other and vice versa. God does not hate. He looks with sadness and pity on all including our weaknesses. Therefore, Christians must curb their hatred and if they wish to live a relatively happy and peaceful life.
Some Christians in the US and elsewhere whose families have been murdered and even children, have openly forgiven their murderers. Why not you, fellow Dominicans? Do not carry that burden in your heart, mind and soul for life. As the religious song which I love and which is consoling, “What a friend we have in Jesus. Take it to the Lord in prayer.” This is what He wants us to do and expects of us.
Having stated this, my further thoughts are, there is always more to a story than meets the mortal eye and mind.
They even gave him a nickname. Is the son really telling the truth? The Eighth Commandment of God is: “Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor.” He better tell the truth as the eyes and ears of Our Lord Jesus Christ are upon him and also on the Court who is listening to him providing his incriminating evidence against his father.
According to what the son stated, he may have done it but who dismembered the head. I suppose the son will provide further details.
They used the victim’s vehicle. Was it not examined for finger, foot printing and blood residue?
After the completion of the case, I hope the Court is capable of giving this son constant protection for the rest of his life. They want and seek evidence. Too often once they hear the evidence which is what they want in order to convict, after the case is called they ignore those who provided it and leave them on their own to their devices.
This son may not be able to walk the streets and live in peace and security. His evidence against his father is something which will be on his conscience for the rest of his life. He, too, has imprisoned himself; it is like a lifetime prison sentence given to a prisoner.
From what I read, I suspect and concluded that the son did not get along with his father and vice versa. They may have had discords and who knows how many and heated ones to the point of the son disliking his father. He may have had “a beef” against his father.
He really incriminated his father and did him in. His evidence is what caused the police to arrest him and imprison him – for all those years.
All the same, I feel sorry for the father that he found himself in this position and was incarcerated in prison for 5 years without a hearing. I feel that he has paid his dues to society. His whole life is gone and considering that he is sickly.
People must have a hard heart to hate, no matter what the situation not to forgive and for life. After all is said and done, the Lord has asked us to forgive 99 times and more…if we hope to be forgiven and to obtain eternal life with him in Heaven.
We hope and pray that the DA Court will look at all the evidence, analyze it, think beyond and decipher who is telling the truth, nothing but the truth and was the truth told prior to bringing down their verdict. Dominicans expects this of them.

initially it was said that the body was put into Alcapone’s vehicle. now 5 years later they are saying that the body was put into a rented jeep that was rented by Damien. So many people lives in this house, renting apartments in this house and you mean to say not one person heard all that commotion? come Dominicans. Anybody that can be in jail and still sending threatening letters to the boy and his mother is a deadly man with no remorse. The woman was live on the radio reading the letters, crying about her situation being out on the streets with the children, and at that very moment a woman identified as one of the accused daughters kept calling and making threats and jeering at her. She only stopped when members of the public called her name, and began threatening to whoop her if she harmed then, so why are we defending this man still? That boy should have been in protective custody long ago.

An atrocious crime was committed. It was not proven that he committed the crime yet he was imprisoned for five years. During that time he got sick. His health deteriorated and he was still held in prison. Who knows what type of medical care he received during this time? Where is the compassion and fairness of those authorities?
Others have murdered and were granted bail. They, with their lawyers were effective in telling lies that they murdered in self defense. The prosecutor and the judge/magistrate believed them and granted them bail to be free to walk the streets of Dominica. Why was he held in prison for so long? Why was he not granted bail when some hard-core criminals/murderers were granted bail? Those who are not outspoken, who keep silent are no less good. As the saying: “Who knows what lurks in the heart of man?”
Thieves are as bad as murderers. It is said that thieves commit two crimes, theft and murder. In some cases they injure which could also permanently maim. Fortunate for the injured who do not get killed.
Recall those who armed themselves to rob the Portsmouth Credit Union. If I recall a security officer was harmed or someone else. The $34,000 which was stolen was not found. Yet, that criminal was bailed. Is there really a fair justice system in Dominica?
Those who are not fair, Our patient God, who knows, sees and hears all things will hold them accountable on that day. Be careful how you judge people, convict and sentence them for the Lord is taking note. This is the bottom line of it all. We are awaiting the result of this Court case.

The laws should be changed so that swift administration of justice might be mandated for capital crimes. Nevertheless, one may not compare the robbing of an institution or attempted arson to the present case. Although this is a clear case of “Justice Delayed”, one must appreciate the meager economic and human resources of this small country as it struggles to regulate a society that has never respected the rule of law.
Whereas some claim that Al Capone was too disabled to carry out such a physically demanding assault on the victim, you now claim that he got ill from being incarcerated. Well, it can’t be both! and I find your logic too amusing for such a serious matter.

Did the police mess up again and totally ignore doing forensic checks on the vehicle which was allegedly used by Alcapone to dispose of the body after having killed him IN THE SAME WAY THAT THEY MESSED UP IN THAT REGARD IN THE CASE OF MR. If the son says that Alcapone put the body into this vehicle which had been rented by the deceased, then that vehicle would have had blood deposits consistent with the body being dragged into it after the shooting. Was that vehicle ever found? What condition was it in? Did anyone see Alcapone or anyone other than the deceased driving this vehicle at any time around the time of the crime having occurred? Did anyone see someone washing down this vehicle?? Was the vehicle found but burnt out?? There are so many questions………hmmmmmm My sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased. Keep in mind that the prosecution and the victim’s attorney have a job to perform and it is to prove that he is guilty when, in effect he may not be guilty. Let us wait to hear and read the outcome. Is it for his safety or is it to avoid interference by other family members aggrieved that he would testify against his father? Then what happens after the trial is over?
Are you aware that he is testifying against his father or testifying that the father is not guilty? He could also be held in protective custody if the Judge feels that he could be harmed and prevented from testifying, one way or the other.
Know that Dominica is a small country. He is known and his place of residence is known. Due to the nature of this case the Judge is correct.

It will be sad and a sad day for his father if his son testifies against his father. There could be more to it if a son decides to testify against his father. There could previously have been some discord between them. I hope he is not a recipient of his father’s assets or some of it. What would even family members not say to obtain it? Weigh out this situation very carefully.
