Two days after a post went viral accusing the country’s National Security Minister of allegedly committing a number of criminal activities, Rayburn Blackmoore has responded.
He said he has filed a complaint to the police for criminal libel against an individual.
In a Facebook post titled “Three Days for Baby Sarah” Blackmooore was accused of stalking, assault, physical violence, brandishing of weapons, misuse of the police, official misconduct and death threats.
“Whatever the article is alleging does not refer to Rayburn Blackmoore…,” he countered in an audio recording which was also posted on Facebook . “How can you do something like that to somebody and get away with it?”
He continued, “If you read it you will see how dangerous these guys are,” adding, “I can take it; I carry my cross.”
The Justice minister described the post as malicious, mischievous and a fabrication.
“I do not know anything about that, this is a make-up, this is a fabrication and I am wishing all those who are enjoying their day today, that they have gotten away with it, they themselves have to look out because they will be held accountable…,” Blackmoore warned.
I don’t care who he is fornicating with. I want to know if our police force has become a private security firm. And the commissioner is concerned about crime? How will the officers prevent crime while they are guarding concubines.

Not sure why the National Security Minister would wish to use ‘…State Resources’ through the office of the ‘…Commissioner of Police (CoP) and most likely the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to address what appeared to have been conveniently called ‘…Criminal Libel.’
He as an attorney, presumably, has the necessary resources could very well institute litigious proceedings for that which seemingly is a ‘…civil wrong or tort.’
The resources of most regional police forces were known to have been used in ways that marvel.
Thus, scant attention is paid to the issue of a spike in ‘…crime and violence,’ until victims and the populace cried out.

Oh My. The politics in Dominica has really sunk down to a new low. If this is true, I would’ve encouraged the young lady and the persons involved to take the necessary legal actions especially if there are the video evidence and witnesses. I would not have made this public knowledge that it would become a viral topic. People can be real cyber bullies, jokes about it and all other such memes etc. This is quite insensitive to the young lady and her family may feel as well as the family of the accused. Dominica has become a very scary place when it comes to political divide. Giving your opinion on a matter results in name calling and defaming, persons are cautious in being too obvious of who they support due to fear of being ridiculed by the opposed, or dark searches into the individual’s lives, name calling, storytelling, slander, bullying, verbal abuse. We need to take a pause and look at where we are heading.

If what you are saying is true, then it still doesn’t mean you have to expose the young lady to the world. Mr, Blackmoore should pursue any and all legal rights that he possesses as a civilian under our laws. In so doing, he ought to be well aware that filing a law suit does not in itself absolve him from the allegations, if there is sufficient evidence to prove it to be true. Even if the allegations are partially true, the things enormity of the things alleged in the article creates a lot of smoke, which suggests that there may be some fire to investigate.
Moreover, the Hon. Minister understands that in his line of business,one pays a political price, which could be a lot more than a legal or even a moral price. The political cost of the story could be very high for him and he may have a heavy political cross to bear.

Worry about repairing roads in Mahaut and creating jobs for locals. Improve investigating techniques so that open cases can be solved and convictions laid out for those who commit murders and stabbings.
I don’t know whether the allegations against Minister Blakemore are true or not. What I do know, for sure, is that the Skerrit-led DLP government is corrupt to the core. The longer a political party remains in power, the more corrupt and dictatorial it becomes. The country needs investigative journalists to look into the $100 000 000 of PetroCaribe missing funds and other numerous scandals. One should not give these bandits any benefit of the doubt because of their sullied track record in government.

Gary, while you are trying to tear percent down; it appear as if you are not familiar with the English language, since you are making a big deal out of the word “lazy.” I don’t see how you could have made an issue out of that since laziness is not a crime.
Lazy simply implies the dislike of movement, or activity; if she/he imply’s Roosevelt is indolent that person is correct, since Roosevelt is unable to get anything significant done in the country. There are necessities we need in the country which will give life to our economy, thus changing the backward life of our people existing in perfect poverty!

I do not believe you. I dare you if you do then post it. Dominica is become a dangerous place to stay. Dirty politics have taken a different turn and it is scary that we have now come to the point where we can say malicious and devastating things about people to discredit and ruin their reputation just to support a party.
I am saddened by the turn of events that are occurring in Dominica and it is extremely sad that even people with education are engaging in such destructive behavior.These are some serious charges and why is he not arrested yet if that were true.
