Fire Chief Josiah Dupis said it is too early to determine exactly what caused a fire which destroyed an entertainment spot on the Roseau Bayfront.
Dupis said at around 8:15 a.m. fire official’s responded to a call and moved swiftly to suppress the massive blaze.
“We responded with just about every piece of equipment that we had at the fire department and I want to commend the police officers and the public for their cooperation,” he said.
Dupis said it took about 45 minutes to put the fire under control.
“The fire officers did a great job. We were very fortunate to have fire officers who were nearby on training and those who were off duty who assisted. There were even a few retired officers assisting and all of that blended to the effort at extinguishing the fire this morning,” he added.
Dupis said it is too early to determine what caused the fire but information will be provided later.
Top Shotas Bar was completely destroyed while the nearby Coco Rico suffered extensive damages.
There is still now word on the estimated cost of damages.

i hope the rebuilding will commence soon it will be a real sore eye to the tourist i hope Government can assist the person or persons

wow, i lime at that place (Top Shattas) a few times. cool tourist spot and lime for pool fans. this is gonna hurt, especially the owners and folks who love pools/biliards. Definitely gonna a put a scar on the touristy image of the bayfront for a little while.
