Hugo Chavez wins Venezuela election

Hugo Chavez

Hugo Chavez has won another 6-year mandate as president of Venezuela.

Preliminary results late Sunday show Chavez winning by 54 percent over his main rival Henrique Capriles.

Millions of Venezuelans voted in the polls which many say was Chavez’s toughest political fight yet.

Celebrations erupted around the country when the results were announced.

54% of the votes means he just SCRAPPED through.
I WOULDN’T CALL THAT “THE PEOPLE LOVES CHAVEZ”

THIS SAYS THAT JUST ABOUT HALF OF VENEZUELA DOES NOT LIKE CHAVEZ, SO THERE MUST CLEARLY BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH WHAT HE IS DOING

thanks for being one of the few who comments after comprehending what you read and not just parroting what poorly informed people are saying. this just exposes how low of a bar our own people set for success.

i believe these results were so close because approximately six million people did not vote most because they already confided that chavez was in the lead. another factor was that venezuelans who reside in other countries of the world were allowed to vote and of course they would against chavez

Congrats Sir!!! Nortwithstanding the tirade of negative propaganda from the western media outlets, subversive activities by your enemies both inside and outside Vrnezuela and many praying for your demise (remember Dan Rather a few months ago saying that you were going to die before the elections??) you have again conquered. The victory is for all of us who believe in a free and soverign determination of our affairs and who want an independent and prosperous Latin America and the Caribbean.

Like or dislike charvez if we want the election process appear to demonstrate that the people have spoken with their votes.{spin,or no spin.}as it should be. Hope Dominicans learn from this at the end of the process we all have to come together for the good of country. Politicians come and politicians go, if there is disstifaction with that let our vote send the real message.

Does not matter how long one holds office, just as long he/ she does their job…

Each country has its own political system. Mexico, for example has a system whereby a President can only serve one 6 yr term. In other words, a president can serve only one term which last 6 yrs… but his party can file another candidate. So while the party can remain in power for several terms, a president can only serve one term. Thats their system. Dominica elects a president who can serve two 5 yr terms. Thats our system.

I wish you would take so time off and do some research about a country before you make such a silly comment. It is sad that people like you just run your mouth based on what you hear people say and not try to find the facts. Dominicans please start reading and investigating, dont just take othe poeples word for it. No offense intended.

Please educate yourself before talking this sort of garbage. Chavez is well loved and he does not operate a dictatorship either. Why do you think this is what Venezuela represents? Where did you get your information from?
