Is Dominica a country of laws?

Is there anyone who considers himself or herself above the law?
If so we have a system of anarchy in our Nature Isle.

You could be a DLP or UWP supporter but by now you should realize that these incitement charges are ridiculous and one sided. The PM stated, “throw hot water on them”. Worst has been said and nothing has been done to anyone on the DLP side. People we all have common sense and by now should realize that this has to stop.

Sad, but it is time we get more civil in politics. The body bag statement was foolish and should have been condemned by the leadership of the UWP.

The police, drug dealers/criminals and the present government of Dominica are one damn party and uwp and their supporters are their enemies so what you expect. If that evil government remains in office they will go on the pulpit to arrest pastors and priests that preaching against evil and wrong doing because these thugs just want to convince us that Evil is right and Good is wrong.

Carbon and Skerrit have determined that UWP members and their supporters are the criminals of Dominica because is they that saying stealing is a crime, corruption is a crime so Carbon, Blackmoore, Skerrit and the DLP are out to make an example of them by arresting them so we and the world could know that criminals are now law abiding citizens. When I was growing up as a young man criminals were those that murdered, those that stole, drug dealers and drug traffickers, those that were involved in money laundering, those that were corrupt, those that broke the law, those that raped our young girls just to name a few. Back then, when Dominica was a real country those were the people our government and police were after. But todaythose well known criminals are friends of the police and they are the ones WORKING for and on behalf of the Skerrit government. In fact even international criminals that are on the run have seen Dominica as their safe haven . See how we get boy

There’s absolutely nothing to comment about, just listen to the chilling threats of Brian Linton. You people are openly advocating violence, then you are crying fowl. Did the leader condemned the threats.

In the words of Senior Counsel Tony Astaphan “Stop the Madness”.

Please answer me this one question, Why wasn’t the prime minister roosevelt skerrit arrested for incitement when he advised persons to, and I quote, “dash them with hot water”?

I think people need to understand that we are slowly losing our freedom of speech and expression. We recently celebrated 41yrs of Independence in Dominica but we need to ask ourselves a few questions.
    (i) How free are we?
    (ii) Are we really independent?
(iii) Do we want to truly be free and independent?
(IV) What price are we willing to pay to be free?

The police have gone berserk. There is no doubt that this country has become a fully fledged dictatorship. This is exactly what happens in totalitarian countries. The police, the courts and the military forces are used to intimidate, harass, jail and eliminate those who dare to speak truth to power. I see instability ahead for this country if this wanton abuse of authority continues. There is a limit to how much a people can toke. Even a cowardly dog will attacked if it is provoke sufficiently. Let’s hope common sense and peace will prevail. When a leader stays in power as long as Skerrit has, he naturally becomes dictatorial, very corrupt and bankrupt of ideas. He also loses the confidence of the majority of the people and uses the military might of the state, bribery, a fraudulent electoral system to prolong his stay in office. Skerrit’s behavior is becoming more and more bizarre. Could you imagine what it will be like if he gets a next five (5)year term?

I’m not sure if you visit or live in Roseau but if what I saw and heard over the last two or three days is the lovely Dominica that I have to look forward to, I had better start to pack.

Skerrit is being accused to planning to win the election by stealing votes but it seems to me that the UWP plans to win by intimidation, instilling fear and coercion.

I mean I passed by some sidewalk speakers shouting and screaming like hoodlums for the country to shut down on Thursday 14 November and I was literally scrambling to get as far away from these people as I could. I even heard what seemed to have been a threat to the business community about if they think they selling tomorrow they won’t.

Listen to me, I was so sad for my country and it continued today with a barrage of noises and rants and I had to think if this is the face of the UWP party I do not want to associate with it.

Ibo what is your take please.

Why is the police targeting only UWP supporters with inciting? Is it that DLP supporters have better control of what comes out of their mouths?

Brian is a liability to the UWP. he needs to keep his emotions in check. he’s harming the party with his utterances.

That’s a valid question. If a person of ANY POLITICAL PARTY threatens to put people into body bags if they don’t get their way should be taken very seriously. We are a country of laws. If you don’t like the government in power, present a compelling case and mobilize people to the polls, PERIOD.

Well it appears that the only ANGRY people in Dominica is supporters of the UNITED WICKED PEOPLE (UWP)!!!!

It is not the police that asks them to be irresponsible with their anger and their tongue, they seems to want to kill anyone they percieve different to them and their ideology….

Good job officers let’s hope that case do not get thrown out for lack of prosecution!!!!!

      Zandoli

You seem to have hit the nail on the head! they really seem to be more focussed on fun and love with the occasional exuberant expression of disgust and one or two impetuous unfortunate statements from the PM and Deputy, I guess when the pressure becomes unbearable.

I don’t seem to remember hearing anything on the scale of an invitation to bring along body bags, since usually, only dead people are put in body bags.

I really hope that you are not seeking to defend this in any way. You see that does not help the individual or your party. It is better to keep quiet on a matter like this and speak to your people quietly in the background than to attempt to justify it publicly.

More people are just going to associate you folks with death and destruction.

No. Actually. It’s a because the police Commissioner lives in Skerrit’ s pocket. Just now he will add a room because Skerrit pocket is getting too small.

It seems lime the law booms in Dominica have been rewritten and all but one crime was left on the books. There us no longer a crime called theft. There is no longer a crime fled malicious damage. There is no longer a crime called murder it attempted murder. All of those are now legal. You just have to be careful what you say today because it finds it way under a heading in the incitement crime law book. If you ask a man to speak the truth it is incitement. If you accuse a man of stealing public funds it is incitement. If you call a oh pic official corrupt it is incitement. If you walk on the same road with a member of the governing party and you are an opposition supporter it is incitement. It appears to me that our police officers have been well trained to deal with incitement and not any other crime since they do not exist on the law booms in Dominica. I hope in the night of the elections the incitement police will do their jobs and go after those who incite violence.
